This was a fun accessible read about the amazing ways in which our brains and minds work. I loved how the information was presented and the most of the topics presented. I will admit I found the section on AI annoying and unnecessary, and I almost DNF'ed the book at that point because not every book needs to talk about AI. I would rather learn about real, human and animal brains.
dark informative sad tense slow-paced

Very well researched. I love the inclusion of all the iterations of the ballads offered at the back of the book. Great for those who love true crime or literary origins. The illustrations complement the feeling of each of the ballads. The only thing I think would have made it better would have been a slight change in format. I believe the presenting the ballad first followed by the background information would have made for a more intriguing experience.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.

This story was epic. I absolutely love the fearless main character and her determination to not only find her father's killer as well as make a name for herself in a field that would not allow her in without being disguised as a man. Her the push and pull of her friendships/relationships with the 2 princes kept me hooked as well as her journey to become her father's legacy. I sincerely hope this is just the first book in a series because the world built was so intriguing that I want to dive into it more.

An absolutely beautiful book. I was drawn into this story by the cool Geo-creatures and the mischief they make, but what really stood out to me was the main characters' journeys to find their place in their respective families. I sincerely hope to see this book become just the first in a series. I want to meet more geofauna critters!!

I absolutely love the diversity in this book. The inclusion of a Female Main Character with both Vitiligo and Heterochromia is something unique especially with how seamlessly it was done. Honestly until Bear mentioned it in the dialogue I didn't even notice her unique looks. Also the depth of Bear's character as well as his struggles with dyslexia are powerful. The coloring of the backgrounds line up very well with what is going on in the story. That being said, something about it just felt unfinished, like it was almost more the concept or outline of a story than a fleshed out story. So much was presented in such a small amount of time but very little if any of it explored . There is so much potential here.

A fun tale inspired by the great Don Quixiote legends. There was plenty of action and mythical fun as well as strong messages of how no person is an island and how we find strength in unity.

Another exciting twisted fairytale. The tie to the original tales is very thin in this retelling but it is truly a wonderful tale on it's own full of adventure and finding your own family.
