“10 Things That Never Happened” by Alexis Hall
📕 Edition: ARC Audiobook via @netgalley
Hall weaves humor, chemistry, and a touch of amnesia into a compelling narrative in this slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance that is delightful and heartwarming (even though Jonathan was kind of a pain in the rear), taking a unique spin on the boss-employee relationship.
Sam Becker's charm, filled with wit and vulnerability, makes this story an engaging read. The tension between Sam and his infuriating boss, Jonathan Forest, is palpable, and their journey from misunderstanding to genuine connection is both entertaining and emotionally resonant.
Will Watt @willmwatt does an amazing job on the narration of this audiobook. I will be seeking out other books he has narrated for sure!
Thank you @NetGalley, Alexis Hall, and @Sourcebookscasa for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This story takes you to the hallowed halls of Mount Holyoke College in the late 19th century, where the disappearance of Bertha Mellish, a peculiar and enigmatic student, sets the stage for an enthralling literary crime mystery. Beutner masterfully weaves together a tapestry of secrets, suspicions, and desires, leaving readers constantly questioning the truth.
Bertha's best friend, Agnes, emerges as a central figure, her reticence stoking the intrigue. As the search for Bertha unfolds, Beutner delves deep into the lives and motivations of those involved, shedding light on the competing agendas that drive them.
Not just a mystery; it's a beautifully rendered historical portrait of queerness, family trauma, and the daring women who challenged societal norms. “Love Is Love: The absolute must-have guide to coming out from TikTok's favourite agony uncles” by Matthew Mackinnon & Ryan Payne
📕 Edition: ARC Audiobook via @netgalley
A resource for anyone grappling with their identity and seeking guidance in their LGBTQIA+ journey. Though I initially mistook this for more of a memoir, this book is more of a guide for self-discovery and acceptance. I found this to be a tad bit boring but admittedly I am probably not the intended audience so I could definitely see how it could be useful for others.
Matthew and Ryan, known as social media sensations, leverage their platform to offer solace and support to countless individuals navigating the complexities of LGBTQIA+ experiences. The book is a treasure trove of advice, touching on pivotal issues such as coming out, combating bullying, handling unsupportive families, and self-identity exploration.

“Being Henry The Fonz…and Beyond” by Henry Winkler
Edition: ARC Audiobook via @netgalley
This was a memoir that offers an intimate look into the life and career of a beloved cultural icon, Henry Winkler, famously known as 'The Fonz' from the TV series "Happy Days." While the book provides a comprehensive account of Winkler's journey through the entertainment industry and glimpses into his personal life, it really falls short of delivering any particularly thrilling or unexpected revelations.
For die-hard fans of Henry Winkler and his iconic character, 'The Fonz,' this memoir may serve as a nostalgic trip down memory lane, filled with anecdotes and insights about his experiences. However, for anyone like myself seeking a memoir with gripping storytelling or profound insights, this one may come across as somewhat underwhelming. The narrative largely focuses on the well-documented aspects of his career and family life, without delving into groundbreaking or captivating territory.
Overall, a solid read for fans eager to learn more about the man behind the leather jacket, but it may leave others hoping for a bit more excitement and depth in its storytelling.

“I’m Thinking of Ending Things” by Ian Reid
📕 Edition: Paperback
I really had to think long and hard how I felt about this one… I feel like this is one of those that you either love it or hate it and you either get it or you don’t. With that said I did not love it and I’m not sure I really got it…
Overall it started kinda slow but kept my interest enough to keep reading. Then I feel like it just needed to get to the point. The last half starts really getting into it and has you thinking of things that could possibly happen or have you guessing how it ends.
!!!SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT!!!
I kept thinking of the man from her childhood window is going to end up being a stalker/killer or maybe her drivers ed teacher is going to end up being a stalker/killer. At some point I thought maybe the boyfriend was her window stalker… Then there was the whole weirdness with his family that had you pondering if they were crazy people and she was somehow related to them.
Then the ending came… So he was just a crazy person that made all this up and the relationship with her never happened? He was just a lonely crazy guy that ended up being a school janitor that then killed himself?
I also watched the movie on Netflix after reading this… it was… weird.

📕 Edition: ARC ebook via @netgalley
Jonny Garza Villa delivered a stirring YA contemporary love story! This captivating novel took me on a poignant journey of self-discovery, young love, and the enduring quest for belonging.
Set in the vibrant Santos Vista neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas, the story introduces us to Ander Martínez, a nonbinary Mexican American teenager who finds solace and inspiration in their family's taquería. The narrative beautifully captures the tapestry of Ander's world—pan dulce aromas, the harmonious blend of Spanish and English, and the powerful role of their mural artistry. As Ander prepares to leave for art school, the familiar surroundings that have nurtured their creativity give rise to hesitation and uncertainty.
Ander's transition from taquería life to full-time muralist, thanks to a "firing" from their family, marks the beginning of a transformative journey. However, it is their chance encounter with Santiago López Alvarado, the enigmatic new waiter, that sets the heart of this story in motion. The love that blossoms between Ander and Santi feels as natural as breathing, and their relationship becomes a conduit for profound self-discovery.
Through Santi's eyes, Ander gains fresh insights into their identity as an artist, igniting a creative flame that propels them forward. Meanwhile, Ander becomes Santi's guide to understanding the intricacies of Santos Vista and the United States, eventually helping Santi establish a sense of home. But their love story isn't without challenges, as the shadow of ICE agents looms, threatening to shatter their newfound happiness.
Jonny Garza Villa masterfully addresses the complexities of identity, love, and belonging in a world fraught with uncertainty. As Ander and Santi navigate the treacherous waters of immigration, readers are reminded of the fragility of home and the resilience of love. The story delves into the stark reality of living in a world that often feels against them and beautifully depicts the power of love to persevere even when the odds seem insurmountable.
