Full Review of Phantom Blood

I think that Phantom Blood works better animated. Sure the Manga came first but it does fit the Anime format much more. To give some credit though the art is amazing, it is absolutely worth the time just to see all of the art. One thing that bothered the absolute hell out of me is how they kept switching between Vampire and Zombie. Dio clearly is a Vampire and Vampires make more Vampires… I dunno if that was all intentional but it bothers the heck out of me. Just call them Vampires, don’t switch between the two! 🫠
Also note: The story is set in Victorian England so expect some racial stereotyping particularly in volume one.

Yeah I can’t do it. I tried so hard but the use of so many Ableist words as the author’s descriptive words was horrid. Do not recommend it. I’m sure that there is far better Polyam/Non-Monogamous Monster Romance out there.

Read this through a friend’s recommendation and it was a journey. The inconsistent pacing had me not enjoying it at points because it was very jumpy and made me confused. But the moments where the pacing is consistent, it is phenomenal! I really liked the dynamics of the characters, especially Effie and Tavia. Everything in this book I liked except for the pacing that kept on throwing me off.
Note: There is an HP reference in Chapter one and one comment that was very much reading “only girls have uteruses” vibe. As a Genderfluid person I have to mention these so anyone else in Trans and Non-Binary communities can decide if they want to read it with knowing those are there.

After so many years, I have finally finished one of my favourite trilogies of all time. I loved this so much! Such a great story, so many great characters, and everything tied together so well. Highly recommend reading this series it is fantastic. It will make you laugh and cry.

I’m just reading the Manga now that I finished Phantom Blood in the Anime and wow it is way more violent here than in the show. Probably due to censorship which is very understandable 😂
Still, love it so far as much as I loved watching it. I cannot wait to see more of the artwork in the next two volumes!
