I'm so addicted to this story. I... I still need to recover from what I just read. I'll leave a more detailed review later. For now know that I LOVED this book and that I can't wait to continue this series (once I emotionaly recovered).
A 4.5 to 5 star read for me!

In the Decemberbox of Fairyloot was Fire and Heist included as the book of the month. Fairyloot was hosting a readalong for this book from the 7th to the 12th of January 2019. I started with all the other but quickly fell back due to my busy shedule. I was able to catch up however.
I have to admit I struggled getting through the first part of the book. I was not really connecting with Sky, our main character, that much and for me it felt a but as if the story draged. Once we reached the middle point, however, that changed. Suddenly we were in a scenario that was very interesting to me. Sadly, the second part was... well not so long as this was not a long book. In a way I have hoped to see more pages in HOME to get to know the place and dive a bit deeper in their society and their history. I guess one can not have everything.
Most characters in the story are lovable and fun, and for long or short you'll connect with them. My favourite was definetly Gabriella. I'm so glad that Sky abd Gabriella became friends.
I liked the general theme of Family and Friends in this book. Also, thinking about the society the dragons have and comparing it to ours was very interesting. Think about it. Especially the part of judging people by only one or two key points.
All in all a good book but sadly did not got blown away by as as I expected when I first read what it'll be about.

True rating 2.5
I had so many exprctations when I started reading this book. I loved Buffy when I was a teen (only watched the last 2 seasons on TV tho and for some reason it wasn't shown as much as Charmed was) and couldn't wait to see what kind of story Kiersten White would like to tell us.
Sadly, I felt highly disconected with this book. I wasn't enjoying it as much as I'd like too either. I think my main problem was with the characters. As this was a very character driven story that was a bit unfortunate.
Not sure if I'd give a sequel another try. It's so sad that I didn't lovte this book

Like the first volume this one was such a nice and nostalgic read. I absolutely love the first story arc and can't wait to read more adventures of our guardians. Off too volume three now.
A clear 5 star rating again for this series~

I absolutely adore this series. I mean the artwork is stunning and the story is one K really really luke! The first part of it is the one I remember reading the most as a kid.
The last few chapters of the first part were my favourite. Once again I couldn't put my book down when they decided that the time for the ladt battle has come.
Everything after achieving their first victory is a blur which excites me as I can go forward reading it with new eyes again. Can't wait to get my hands on the fourth book.
A clear 5 stars for this book and the entire first part of this series.

In the end of November I finally got my hands on the sequel to Warcross. I flew through Warcross last year as I liked it a lot. Because of that I was so excited when the sequel came out. My expectations were soooooo high, however, that I decided to wait a bit longer as high expectations are never a good things when it comes to stories in my expiriance.

Sadly, I did not like it as much as I hoped I would. I can't exactly pinpoint why I liked this book so much less than the first book. I think it had a bit to do with the path the story walked down on. It had an interesting concept and it definetly solved some questions but... I don't know... when hearing what the first book was about I wouldn't have expected to end in a storyline about human AIs and inhuman experiments.
It was well written and the story flew well which was great and I was very happy to see that the side characters finally got a bit more back story and character (which was one thing I missed in the first book).
I was not okay with the mention of our current popculture in the book tho. BTS was mentioned twice and there were muktiple other mentions of things from today too... which for me is weird as it plays in the future and as sorry as I am to say this taste and popular things change. It always makes me sad to see popculture specificly mentioned in books too as the story gets dated through this so much quicker.
In the end it was an okay book for me. Not great but not bad. I give this book 2.5 stars

As interesting as the idea is to hear Jude's sisters side of the story and get to know her secrets... I just... I don't know...
It's written perfectly but I'm turned off by her character. Sadly this changed my view of her as well... which is sad. It's somehow a relieve tho that she is a stronger woman that you would assume by simply reading the main story.
All in all I'd give this a 2.5. I'm really sad that I didn't like this as much as I've loved the first book in this series
