This book was so good!
In all honesty I didn't think that I would enjoy it this much. I heard a lot about this series and kinda got high expectation for it because of that before I even started reading. This is probably also why I can't give it a full 5 stars but it's definetly a 4.5 star book for me.

I think the story was interesting and well done. Sure there are similar stories out there but I didn't mind that at all while reading. I was fearing, tgat the first book will only be about Alinas training but luckily it wasn't.

The characters were really cool. I kinda like Mal the best of them. The darkling was a very interesting character as well but he really didn't click with me as much. Because of that I wasn't really fond of the love triangle in this book.

The book itself had some kind of a Russian side theme (character having Russian names and there were certain words in Russian I believe) but it sadly wasn't brought up as much. Or at least in my opinion. That was a bit unfortunate but I didn't mind that much about it tho as the story was still very enjoyable.

I absolutely loved the writing stile. It was a very easy and fast book to read. I was captivated by the dtory and the world which made this book a page turner for me.

I can't wait to read the second book ^____^

I'm still kinda dazzed how good this book was. I felt in a contemporary mood yesterday and decided to pick this book up. I heard quite many good things about it which kinda worried me as... well expectations were high because of that. However, I was not dissapointed.

Simon is such a sweet and awesome character! I loved spending some time with him and see the world through his eyes. He's very witty and fun which I enjoyed a lot. I also believe he acted quite normal through out the book and made some good desicions.

The plot itself was very addicting for me to read. There were so many things I loved about it. I think I loved the e-mails between him and Blue the most. It was so nice to see how they grew more and more fond of each other without even knowing who the other is. It was sweet ^^

I felt so mad tho when all started to crumble down. All was so perfect but then was destroyed by one big jerk. It felt frustrating and it hurt to see Simon hurt during tgat time so much. The back lash he got from that thing wasn't much better tho. It's so sad that he had to go throug that and people still think it's ok to bully someone because of a different preference...

Simons friends and family were amazing characters too. All of them were lovable and fun. It fitted Simon and tge story very very well.

I also enjoyed the many referances to other fandoms and pop culture. It made you relate to the story more too and it sometimes it felt like a inside thing between you and the book (not sure if you understand what I want to say with that 😅).

All in all I'll give this book a 4.5 - 5 ☆
I really enjoyed it a lot!!!

This book has always been my least favourite in the series. I can't pinpoint why that is tho. It might be because this is the one Harry Potter book I read (book) , heared (audiobook) and seen (movie) the most. *shudders while remembering that one Christmas when I read this book like 5 times in a row*

In anyway, I did enjoy the parts in Hogwarts a lot. The mistery about the chamber of secrets was well made. There were also quite many moments that I absolutely forgot about over the past few years. For that alone I'm absolutely grateful that I decided to rereade it. I did enjoy it (I mean it's Harry Potter, how can I not?) and look forward to read the next book in the series again ^____^

After finishing City of Bones I was so excited to start reading this. I wanted to know how things would continue after that hell of a cliff hanger in the first book. I waited one whole week tho as I wanted to stay on schedule of the year long read-along for the Shadowhunter series. Therefore I started immediately once the 27th of January arrived!

The second book picked up where we were left in the end of the first book right away. The story progressed in a quite fast pace which I honestly very liked. We were also introduced to quite a few new characters that added a good new flavour to the story. One thing I really like about all the characters in the story so far is that neither is purely good or bad. They seem real and they act accordingly (even when some actions might not be the wisest things to do *smiles*).

Jace was a really interesting character to study in this book. You truly were able to see how the twist form the last book still hurt him. To top all that he feared to even loose the one family he had always known. I was so sad to see him hurting so much. However, I think he grew just as much because of this.

I really liked to see the relationships of the characters grow quite a lot too. Malec is already my favourite and I really really hope we're going to see more of them in the next few books (I grinned so much when I read the scene with the fearless rune! It was a pity that it stopped working so early tho!). I truly believe that they are perfect for each other ^___^
Clary on the other hand got in a relationship with Simon quite in the beginning of the story... I wasn't that found of that to be honest. I do understand that Clary was hoping to fall in love again and forget about Jace... but in a way I don't like seeing her with Simon that way. I was really glad when they ended it again in the last part of the book. They are better off as just being friends in my opinion.
As for Clary and Jace... I still can't believe that they're supposed to be brother and sister!!!! It has to be some kind of mistake! I was hurting so much reading about their desire for each other but weren't able to go further because their siblings. I really hope this was just a trick and none of this is true! It can't be!

I'm really curious how things will continue from now on. What will Valentine try next? I believe this wasn't the last time we've seen him! It sure will stay interesting ^^
Can't wait to read the third book!!!

This book makes me so nostalgic. It was the first book I truly ever read. I have such wonderful memories of this series that I couldn't stop myself from rereading it once again.

The first book of this series isn't my favourite Harry Potter book tho. I love it but it sure isn't my absolute favourite.

I do love the introduction of the world and all the main and side characters very much. It made me fall in love with everything all over again while reading it. This is actually one of the most beautiful things about rereads; memories and falling in love again.

It's a pitty it was over so soon. while reareading I noticed that the pace of the story got quite fast in the end. I was a bit surprised at that and somehow I whish it would have been longer. However, all in all still a very good story to read!

LOVE IT!

This book was so good! I started reading it shortly after I decided to join Emma's read along for 2018. It was a goal of mine to finally give the shadowhunter world a chance as I heard so many great things about it.

I swear I rarely read this fast. usually it takes me 1 or 2 weeks to finish a book but this one got me captivated. Every chance I got I pulled out my book and continued. Which ended in me finishing it within 3 days 😄

The world of this book was absolutely fastinating. I loved reading all about it and get to know the basics of it. It is a world a happily go back to in a week to read the second book.

I loved the characters! Especially Jase and Magnus. Simon was very fun to read and I can't wait to get to know Isabell and Alec better in the next book. Valentine was a very interesting character too. So far we only realy heard stories about him being bad and haven't really truly seen it live. I believe we'll get to know him better in future books as well, which will be really interesting considering the 'conection' he has with Jase and Clary.

The story itself was really good! So much was going on in that book too. I wouldn't have guessed that so much happenes in the first book alone.
The twist in the end was... shocking. I honestly wouldn't have predicted that. I wonder how Jase and Clary will handle that in tge future books. It's a pitty as I really loved seeing them together. I think they had great chemestry. Can't wait to find out in the next book 😄

All in all I'm fascinated by this book. I'm really glad I read it!
