I literally just finished this book a minute ago.

What can I say? Wow. This is my first time reading a book from Nalini Singh and I must say I quite like the writing style.

This book is a slow burn for sure. Not in a draggy way though. I quite enjoyed going through the pages, following the ride of character developing and the setting of the scenes.

Honestly, I didn't care of any of the characters but I was very curious to know how this will end. I always enjoyed isolated, closed-circle mysteries and this will go on my list.

I would like a little bit more secrets and slightly faster pace (even if I enjoyed the slow burn). Overall, I enjoyed this slow read (I normally get bored very quickly) even if the ending was a bit wild. But hey it's fiction so I don't care. It was entertaining and I'm glad I picked this up.

I loved Thursday Murder Club but after reading this (the second in the series), I love it even more.

Ah, what can I say? This book made me laugh and also feel for the characters. I find myself really caring for the main characters and it's not often that I say that. All I can say is that, I'm looking forward to reading the rest in this series but also not looking forward to it because I don't want this journey to end.

Let’s just get straight into it. I thought the potrayal of the imperfections of a marriage was quite realistic and painfully relatable. I enjoy learning about Lauren’s explorations of being somewhat alone but I just feel like I need a little more depth to her journey. It still felt a bit on the surface level to me and wasn’t enough for me to fully connect with the characters like I did in Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and One True Loves. Nonetheless, it was an okay read. I listened to this on audiobook and I enjoyed the narrator. So no big loss for me.

What a series. It was fun, intriguing, witty, and emotional. I will wait patiently for them to return ♥️

I'm really undecided if I liked it or not haha. For me personally, the first 2/3 of the story really dragged on for me. Maybe that's because I did not like any of the characters :/ However, towards the end when the action begun, that's when I flew through the story. I will say that I like the way the story ended.

Overall, unfortunately, not the most fun I had reading a thriller.

Oh my god. This was a mad ride of a book. So dark and wild. This is my fifth John Marrs’s read and I am looking forward to read them all. Because he is my #1 favourite thriller author.

But damn. This one. What a book.
Prepare yourself and please look up trigger warnings if you need to.

4.5 stars.

This is everything I want in a thriller. Short-chapters, fast pace but doesn't feel rushed, twists and turns and mad people lol. Definitely picking up another Mary Kubica book!
