The Pumpkin Spice Café is the perfect autumnal read. The setting of the fictional town of Dream Harbor reminded me of many real communities in New England and was one of my favorite aspects of the story. This cozy novel was delightful, and I cannot wait to read its sequel.

As a continuation of the Graves Glen series, The Wedding Witch was good, and it was a pleasure to see another Penhallow brother fall in love. The only thing I didn’t love was the protagonists' lack of urgency in figuring out the whole time travel subplot. With that being said, if you are looking for a lighthearted read or enjoyed the previous titles in this series, The Wedding Witch is one that you should pick up!

Although Sleep Tight is marketed as a horror novel, it reads more like a crime thriller with some horror elements. Since I enjoy crime thrillers, the mismarketing didn’t affect my reading experience. My main issue with the book was the overwhelming number of characters—at times, a name would be mentioned, and I had no idea who it was referring to. This isn’t a book I’ll remember well enough to recommend, and I’ve noticed similar sentiments among my fellow readers.

HGTV meets horror in Haunt Sweet Home. If you prefer eerie horror to graphic and gory horror, this would be a great short title to pick up! I had fun reading this one and used it as a palate cleanser to some serious literary fiction.

I felt a strong connection to the characters in this novel—Briseis is a badass—but really thought the plot was lacking. This Poison Heart left me frustrated because it had so much untapped potential! I will probably not continue with this series.

Beverly Diamond for president!! Goodman Confino’s ability to create such a lovable and realistic protagonist is remarkable. This story wouldn’t have worked if readers weren’t able to root for Beverly so passionately. I fell head over heels for this historical fiction title and highly recommend it.
