A high fantasy paranormal romance featuring vampire like creatures. Vampires are back! Our main character is Poppy and she is the Maiden. She is forbidden to do a lot of things. She starts to fall for the handsome, brooding Hawke, her new guard. He is forbidden and she wants him. Will she break the rules and will she still be able to ascend like she is supposed to?
I really enjoyed From Blood and Ash. The world building was well done. Poppy is fierce and knows how to defend herself. The romance was well done. The only thing I didn’t like is that I found a lot of the twists to be predictable, which was underwhelming for me. I didn’t guess one twist though. I do plan on reading the sequel because this book ends in a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more.

Leeds is in a band and is slowly dying inside. He wants to release his own music, but isn’t sure he wants to be famous though. One night in Kansas, Leeds is playing for a wedding and sees a girl dancing horribly. He ends up meeting her at the ends up falling for her instantly. Her name is Layla. Everything is magical in their relationship, but after two months together they are both shot and Layla almost dies. Six months later Leeds brings her back to the bed and breakfast they met at in hopes it can get them to fall back in love and feel normal. However, some weird paranormal stuff starts to happen.
I loved how this book started, then half way through I was like what the freak am I reading?! Then, a huge plot twists came and I was like oooooh, okay. After that I was not thinking what the freak happened and was thinking more like oh my gosh. This book was really well done and I loved everything about it.

Sophie is a bastard and is raised as a maid for her evil stepmother, but she doesn’t get paid for any of it. One night, Lady Bridgerton hosts a masquerade ball and the Penwoods attend. The servants get together and get Sophie ready for the masquerade. She goes to the masquerade and meets Benedict Bridgerton, who is the second Bridgerton. Benedict falls in love with Sophie-the lady in silver. Benedict never finds out Sophie’s name and thinks about her for a long time. Two years later they meet again, but this time it’s Benedict saving Sophie from some horrible men and offer her a job as a maid for her mother. Will sparks fly for both? Will he forget the lady in silver?
I liked that this had a Cinderella aspect with the evil stepmother and the hidden identity. I liked the romance between Sophie and Benedict. I do not like how Benedict would act at times and what he wanted from Sophie. Overall I liked it, but it may not be a favorite of mine out of the series.

Mac was taken by Fae and was raped. She ended up losing herself in the process. Two months later, she remembers everything and is not the girl she used to be. She’s now different. Trying to find the book and stop her sister’s supposed killer, she will do anything to get her world back.
When I first started the book, I was so confused and thought I accidentally skipped a book. It finally got less confusing and I enjoyed it. It has a lot of action and a lot more fantasy in it. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Nesta Archeron, is the older sister of Feyre from the first three A Court of Thorns of Roses series. This is her story as well as Cassian’s and takes place after the war against Hybern. Nesta has been drinking herself into a stupor and taking a lot of men to bed and having one night stands. She is spending a ton of Rhys and Feyre’s money and not coming around to visit her family. When she is around others she is nasty towards them. Cassian has feelings for Nesta. When the Inner Circle and Feyre have enough of Nesta’s behavior, they decide for Cassian to train Nesta and have her work in the library with the priestesses. Will this change her attitude? Also, something is brewing with the human queens.
I really loved this book. It’s up there with A Court of Mist and Fury. I loved the healing journey that Nesta went on. I loved how Sarah J. Maas tied mindfulness into the book. I loved the romance and the friendship that was woven into the book. This made me change the way I felt towards Nesta. I cannot wait for more of these spin-off books.

Mayana and Ahkin are in the underworld and need to go through the levels of the underworld with trials. They must get the Mother’s Jade bones that she wants. They have Ona, Mayana’s old dog to guide them and heal them with licks. Yemenia’s brother is wanting to marry the empress to become emperor, but the empress is pushing away and wants Yemenia to become high healer. One night, Yemenia goes into the jungle and runs into a wounded enemy, who she ends falling in love with.
I really enjoyed this sequel. I love Ona and think he is so cute. Yemenia’s chapters were my favorite to read, even though Ahkin and Mayana had good chapters too. I didn’t like the instant love in the book though and some of Mayana’s actions drove me crazy. I can’t wait for the next book.

Jess is a single mother to a seven year old and doesn’t really have a dating life because she feels like she is being selfish if she doesn’t devout herself to her child, grandparents, friend, and work. Her friend Fizzy gets her a dna kit for a dating company for Jessica’s 30th birthday. She ends up matching 98% with one of the lead scientists. However, she has met him before she got tested and thinks he is an arrogant jerk. Will sparks end up flying?
I loved how cute this is. I loved the banter and getting to know Jess, River, Juno, and Fizzy. I did find the ending to be a bit slower and not have an enough umph like the first and half of the book. It was still a fun read and one of my favorites by this author duo. I suggest everyone to check this book out on May 18th. Also, I want to thank the publisher, Christina Lauren, and Netgalley for allowing me the chance to read this arc. I usually get declined for their books and I actually squealed when I got approved for this book.

Mac is still hunting the book and looking for her sister’s murderer. She has feelings for Jericho and wants him. Will they finally be able to get the book?
I liked that we finally find out who killed Mac’s sister. The book had a lot of action and was fast paced. There were betrayals and plot twists I didn’t see coming. I really got annoyed that Mac would say she was feeling bipolar. I’m bipolar and the way she kept describing it was all wrong and was really annoying for me when it was described. Still it was a good book.

Siri is a ballet dancer and injures her back and cannot do ballet anymore. She doesn’t know what else to do with her life. Her mom forces her to go on a retreat that is about rediscovering yourself. This retreat takes place in Colorado. Jamie is an aspiring stand up comedian and she bombs a gig. She has to move back in with her grandmother and her grandmother tells her to either go to the retreat or get therapy. She decides on going to the retreat. That’s how Siri and Jamie end up at the same place running into each other. This book is Freaky Friday meets The Parent Trap with some magic sprinkled in.
First of all, I loved Again, But Better and was so excited to be approved for this book on Netgalley. I have to say this definitely has a good plot line and the right idea. Now, the execution was bad. The characters are one dimensional and annoying. Christine creates the girls doing the opposite of one another. Siri doesn’t curse, but uses the words such as excrement and intercourse, while Jamie is swearing like a sailor on every page. Also, can we say, couldn’t have Christine picked other words other than excrement or intercourse to convey Siri doesn’t curse? There are so many other non-curse words to choose from. Then, Siri doesn’t think Jamie is real and was an imaginary friend and ends up thinking Jamie could be a ghost. I think the execution on why the sisters were separated was weird and silly. I really, really don’t recommend this book.

Shay and Dominic work for the same radio station. Shay is a producer and Dominic is an aspiring journalist. Shay and Dominic don’t get along. Shay pitches the idea of a show where exes come together and do a show to keep the radio station a float, Shay and Dominic are picked to do the show because they have the chemistry and detest one another. They must pretend to be exes to everyone and do the show. Will they fall for each other along the way?
I like the enemies to lovers and a new take on fake dating trope, but it being fake exes. I liked the transcripts of the shows between chapters. I do wish there was more banter and comedy in this book. It just fell flat for me.
