Definitely an easy read as it is aimed at teens. There are a few mistakes that slipped past the editors but it wasn't anything distracting or something that took away from the story. Very straight forward heroes quest epic fantasy storyline with some twists. I'm excited to get the rest of the series so I can read them.

Vast improvement on the first book AND explained some of the plot holes in the first book. Was anyone surprised that they needed 7 dragons? The passage from Warricks journal kept saying "Breath of 6 and the one combined"

Having been in a relationship very much like the one that Iris was leaving at the beginning of the book I understand her reasons for doing and saying what she did but damn she kept that lie going for far too long. It was very cathartic to see her new family stand up to Adam and give him a slight comeuppance, though I think he deserved a lot more .
This was very much a book that dealt with romantic love, familial love, and platonic love as well as loss and grief. Would make a decent Hallmark movie.

Amazing. I have been a fan of Jacqueline Carey for a while and have the Kushiel series and the Namaah series. It was great getting Kushiel's Dart from Jocelyn's perspective, made it feel like a different book.
