i read this book when it first came out a couple years back, and now i'm rereading the new version! and it's now in first-person pov which i was very excited about. since it's been a couple years, reading this felt like the first time.

i am absolutely obsessed with cade and kara! i now have to do a reread of the second book, breakaway.

willow prescott never misses and i am so glad to be on her arc team. i'm also loving this brand new cover. this book has a lot of dark themes so make sure to read the TWs before proceeding.

the fmc gave a lot of “pick-me” vibes and the writing really didn’t start out too strong. reminded me of stories i would read on wattpad when i was 14. 😭

i did enjoy this story, but all the talks about religion felt out of place and was very off-putting. 

i haven’t really read any MC romances before and i loved the way ember & mav were written. ember has been through so much and i’m so glad that she was able to make it through and be happy. she deserves the entire world. 🥹

there were a lot of side characters that i absolutely fell in love with and i’m hoping i get to see a certain couple with their own book. 👀

this book was dark, not like dark romance. but in terms of dark themes.

my girl taylor has been through the wringer. 😭 she’s had some awful things happen to her as a child (read TWs please) and she’s come out so strong on the other side. i am so happy she found charles, even though their meeting didn’t happen on the best of terms.

this really had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. there were a lot of subplots in this book, but they were all woven together beautifully. i can’t wait to read more of her books!
