To be quite honest, I liked this book much more than I thought I would.
Katie McGarry's book consistently had me feeling butterflies at the seemingly ill-advised love between Razor, a member of the Reign of Terror Motorcycle Club and Breanna, a smart girl from a large family who usually remains unseen.
When I began this book, I must admit that I was feeling a bit skeptical about the way that the storyline would proceed because in the beginning I felt like McGarry put too much effort into achieving Razor's 'bad boy image.' However, as I continued, it was clear that McGarry provided sincere emotional depth to both the characters.
The overall plot of blackmail had some minor flaws to it, however, it kept the story moving and was surprisingly entertaining. If you're looking for a fast, easy and overall cute (and cheesy romance) then this book is for you! I definitely will be going back for the other books in the series!

*E-book received from NetGalley and Patchwork Press in exchange for an honest review*
Four of a Kind was a decent contemporary read and was overall a quick and fast read. I did thoroughly enjoy the main character of Reagan and her typical sibling interactions with her 3 sisters. Kellie Sheridan did a wonderful job of creating a set of quadruplets who embodied regular siblings who bicker and fight but also have a special bond with one another that will not be broken.
I really really wanted to love this book - especially since it is the first in a series. However, I felt like it was just ok. I found myself not pulled to the book as much as I wanted to be and always felt like something was missing. I also felt as though maybe this book is more targeted towards a younger audience and maybe that is why I wasn't as interested.
That being said, I rate it at a solid 3 because it was a decent read and I think that a younger audience, maybe 9-12 (??), would enjoy it more than a young adult audience would.

I first want to say a quick thank you to Penguin Teen / Penguin Random House Canada for sending me a copy of this book - as always, I truly appreciate it!
To be quite honest, I just really was not a huge fan of this book. I really really really wanted to love it. I'm a huge fairy tale fan and Disney fan and the synopsis totally appealed to me. But overall, it was just not my kind of a book.
There were aspects of the book that I enjoyed - namely the characters of Elle and Darien. I really liked the way in which Poston wrote their characters and allowed their stories and perspectives to come through the pages. But the fan-fiction, sci-fy plot line was a really hard thing for me to look past and ultimately led me to bring my rating down. While I tried to look past it for my love of fairy tales, it just didn't work for me.
I'm giving this book 3 out of 5 stars because even though I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, I think that there were some good aspects to it. I would just say that it's probably not a book I would rush to re-read. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a more modern, contemporary retelling of Cinderella and those who have a significant interest in fan-fiction / sci-fy type plot lines.
