Important topic (LOVE the idea of baking from banned books for a bake sale), but the choice of font was not right for this story & made it difficult to read.

I don't think Christie wanted to write this book, and it was quite apparent in the characters, pacing, and rather underwhelming plot. Nearly every character Poirot interacts with could be summed up as "KiDs ThEsE dAyS" - several of them had the same talking points in the same order in the matter of a couple of chapters.

Oof. I really didn't enjoy this. I don't think it was successfully adapted from a play to a novella and I really didn't like the messages 3 of the 4 stories ended with.
fast-paced
The illustrations were gorgeous and I wish they had been included for all the chapters.
I can appreciate the idea behind this book, but the recipes were underwhelming and not that original or creative. Also, if you're going to include photos of the recipes, *please* make sure to include the actual ingredients listed - so many of the pasta photos didn't use the pasta listed in the recipe (such as calling for penne and then using spaghetti...).
