"How am I supposed to act like the boss around here when Holden Wynn is strutting around dressed like Magic Mike?"

Ava Munroe is back with her latest, Better Than The Single Dad. And Munroe did not miss.

Josie Greene is a delight, and badass; Holden Wynn is a teddy bear. I loved their relationship from start to finish, and they might just be my favorite out of all of Munroe's book couples.

The banter between them, from emails mixed with tension to flirting in the school parking lot. The way he noticed her from the start; her insecurities, her behavior, her inner thoughts. The way he cared for her, just by being there. MY HEART.

I think my favorite character was Mia. She was an absolute joy, and I loved picturing her in her dad's jersey.

Munroe makes readers feel like they're there. Within the story. And I needed more.

And the Wednesday nickname? Kill me now.

Readers will explore so many topics: from mental health, anxiety attacks, family relationships, divorce, and much more.

I absolutely loved BTTSD, and all of the characters.

"Life had a way of surprising you. Sometimes in ways that could crush your soul. Other times, it lifted your spirit to the stars and granted you your wildest wishes."

I absolutely loved this unique take on The Little Mermaid and I fell in love from the cover alone.

Calypso, our main character, enlists the help of her best friend, Luna, to help Dylan with his catch and prayers to their Goddess. Thus, ensuring the fates of those intertwined with them all.

I would've loved to see more of this world fleshed out; more of the mermaid world; how their magic works. Even an entire story to see how Draven was working with the humans to attempt to create peace.

The majority of the characters were an absolute treasure to read, I think was the octopup.

There are so many themes and life lessons displayed throughout this novel, and it was such a fun time reading.

tropes // mermaids, royalty, cursed, magic

Between Land and Sea was a fantastic, quick ya fantasy read. Highly recommend for any Little Mermaid, mermaid, fantasy or ya lovers.

" 'Get a machete, cut your own.' "

The latest in Braeme's Married In Windfall series comes Neha and Jay's story.

Summary: Marrying a perfect stranger to nix Neha’s parents’ plans to marry her off seemed to be a great idea. It was for show only, after all. That is, it was until Neha’s powerful father threatened to have the marriage annulled so she’d be free for the fiancé he had chosen for her. Neha thought hard and long for a sanctuary, but the only place that came to her mind was her husband’s. And so she was stuck in exactly the scenario she had tried to avoid: make-do with a stranger as a husband.

This was a fantastic, quick read and I really enjoyed their story.

I absolutely loved Braeme's take on the topics of arranged marriage, of family drama, of Indian cultures. Someone I Chose had such hard-hitting topics, and they were addressed so well, and I fell lin love from the first page.

Neha is a total badass, standing up to her parents, and a concept that she never wanted. And Jay protecting her from the get-go, was and is beautiful.

Neha and Jay might just be my favorite couple in her Married In Windfall series.

Highly recommend for any small-town, arranged marriage romance readers.

"He always had to smile at that, as a group of marmots was called a "madness". Who came up with names like that?"

And the fact that he automatically buys her a car since the car she was using was never equipped for winter? Ugh, kill me now.

" 'It's girl code. You don't fall for your best friend's brother.' "

Meg Becker is back with Don't Fall and it's one you don't want to miss.

Don't Fall is such a vulnerable, emotional, romantic, read and I fell in love with Bryson and Mackenzie from the very beginning.

Mackenize, fresh off a cruel break-up, tries to reinvent herself and signs up to run a marathon. (Not me girl, GO OFF). Realizing she needs help to train, she enlists, Amanda's brother, Bryson. And he asks in return, for her help, redoing the new bar he bought. Just one rule. DON'T FALL.

I absolutely loved their relationship, from the minute details to the big picture.

And Becker's writing? Nothing but love.

" 'It takes some people a while to find the one person they want to be with for the rest of their life.' "

The newest installment in Mimi Francis's The Loves of Lakeside series come Can't Fight The Feelings which gives us Mason and Natasha's story.

Natasha, fresh off a breakup, moves into Nate's, her brother's apartment; with Mason as his roommate. Friends, since childhood, when she moves in, long lost feelings start to bubble, and love becomes of it.

I think I loved them more than all the previous couples combined. The way Mason has been there for her, since they all met when they were six. He knows her favorite ice cream to eat after a break-up, her favorite roses.  Out of both Mason and Natasha, Mason is definitely my fav. He truly cares for her, even Nick knew they were meant for each other. And the fact that he's a photographer? IM CRYING.

Just like with this entire series, I need more. Not just of them, of everyone. Highly recommend for a quick romance

tropes // childhood friends to lovers

Note: This is the 4th in The Loves of Lakeside series, this can be read as a standalone, and you don't need to read any of the previous books to understand.
