This reminds me of Star Trek First Contact. Not the story but it's flash back to the pass for a historically significant event. And it's just some crazy guy who wants to go fast. 🚀

Avasarala is what makes this a five star book for me. Great characters and a very cinematic story. It's easy to like this series.

Besides taking place in space this felt
more like the tale of a wholesome found family. The characters seem more concerned about their crew mates general well-being than the existential threat of space. However, because or despite that fact, I liked it. Kinda weird at times but that just adds an other level to it's charm.
