If you've watched a lot of Louis Theroux's documentaries you don't need to read this book. Theroux just describes about what happens in his films and occasionally mentions something happening in his personal life at the time he was filming.
It's such a good biography that this is my second reading of it.
Absolutely brilliant. In Search of Black History has left me wanting to know more about the strong and fascinating individuals featured.
It was about time Maria Brontë née Branwell had a biography. Her early death has made her one of the more shadowy members of the Brontë family. Learning about her was an interesting read.
I love the inclusion of her letters and her essay in the appendix.

The plot of the novel was enjoyable, if a little contrived towards the end. The characters didn't seem to have any real depth to them. Not Dickens best work.

Anne Of Ingleside is a transitional story, as Anne goes from being the main character to a secondary one. She is now in her thirties and is a mother to several children. The first half mainly focuses on Anne. As the story progressed, we see the stories of Anne's children more.
Unfortunately, the book lacks an actual plot line. The fat shaming at the end made me a bit uncomfortable. It's not the strongest book in the series, but still an enjoyable read.

I did read this during a bit of a reading slump so that's why I didn't score this 4 stars. However, I really enjoyed the last half of the book.
