I don't feel up to it rn

Sehr negatives Menschenbild. Der Autor ist zudem sehr preachy, und stapelt öfters Anekdoten aufeinander um seine Artikel "zu beweisen". Hübsches Buch und für die netten Anekdoten interessant zu lesen, aber ich hole mir diese lieber von anderen Büchern über Wissenschaften.

I found it pretty imbalanced with regards to the volume of background sounds and speech. As a non native English speaker I didn't understand too much, and I didn't care for the interpretation of gollum, sounded too much like throwing up for my taste.

Had to return it

Ultimately I lost interest and was not as excited about geology as the author seemed to be. I also kept wondering when reading about very specific events in Smith's life if there was any concrete evidence for their portrayal in this work (e.g. diaries) or the author just imagined how those might have happened.

Tedious. Book seems to be mocking the main character's orderliness and not embracing it

Can't deal with the focus on suicide right now. But will pick it up at a later time again for sure! 

I did not get the appeal of the stories, and I gave up. Only enjoyed " the Dog of Titwal"
