This book was so darn cute! Decided to give it a go on audio and loved it. I love a narrator with an accent. Story is basically about when two people think they are going to have some alone time, but fate has other things in store for them ❤️

I don’t want to say too much about this one as I went in blind. It is about two women Eleanor and Ruth who have experienced love and hate in the 1950’s. It’s about motherhood, making hard choices and not giving up. This book gave me all the emotions. I really did love this book and found myself pausing and setting it down as I didn’t want it to end.

I knew with this author I was going to get a twist! I read Next of Kin and really liked it. Who doesn’t love a neighbourhood drama? As I was reading this book I kept trying to guess what was happening. I thought, no too obvious, maybe this…no, wrong again!! Loved the twist, didn’t love the ending, but enjoyed the court case and it did keep me guessing the whole time. Looking forward to reading more of her backlist.

This is how this book went for me:
📖First few pages grabbed me right away
📖Half way through I was confused and didn’t know what was going on as the now and then aren’t very well laid out
📖Last 30% couldn’t put it down

Best part, reading it with my buddy Maggie.

Memoir (no rating)

I was lucky to be gifted a copy and read along w some amazing friends. This book is about Kelly and her sister Meghan. It’s very hard to write about this one as it may be different for every single person reading this. For me, it was about mistakes, family, love, health, grief, hurt, letting go and forgiveness. It was very well written. I felt every emotion the author wrote. Kelly was honest and raw. It was a very sad story, but she wrote it so well. Have to mention that the author is Canadian so I liked the references of places that were thrown in there too.

Definitely triggering so I would check the warnings below or feel free to message me. Did I cry? Definitely.

Thanks to @penguinrandomhouse  for my gifted copy. A big thanks to my fellow bookstagrammers. What a moving read along. I loved the openness and good discussions.

Me loving another coming of age story!! What a story and how is this a debut??  It was beautifully written and knew it would break my heart. I love a strong woman in a book and Victoria was no exception. She went through so much and I just loved reading about her life even though it wasn’t always rosy as she had to make hard decisions. Story about love, loss, resilience and courage. I cannot wait to get my hands on the physical copy TODAY as there is so much I want to tab and read over.

Thank you so much to Spiegel & Garu and Netgalley for my arc in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this story!!!! Another BOTM pick that did not disappoint 🙌 So happy to have read this one with my two friends. I was a little hesitant as I wasn’t sure this would be for me. I’m in shock that this was a debut and I didn’t know the author is Canadian. This story takes place during WWII and it’s about Lena and her adventures as she travels with the circus because her dad is an illusionist. It’s a beautiful story as we follow Lena on her journey. She meets friends along the way and we see the struggles she must overcome. It had me on my toes on what would happen next and had me weeping. It gave me all the feels and have been telling everyone to give it a try.  At the end I just wanted to give Lena a big old hug.  I cannot wait to see what is next for this author.

Loved this story!!! It had all my favorite things incorporated in one book! Thank you Courtney♥️💖
