The essence of Token Black Girl defines my life as a black female largely singularly occupying white spaces.  And I can identify with every challenge Danielle has faced, and most of the examples she gave as well.  Granted I’m not rich or had the privilege of top notch education, dream jobs and celebrity status.  But that doesn’t even matter.  I recognized at an early age the cruelty of racism and different standards exists.  And while I wanted acceptance, I didn’t bend over backwards for it to the extent she did which resulted in her afflictions.  The world is cruel and this book shows that.  Kudos to her for speaking her truth because I know it was painful and just like the beauty industry, people will pick apart her flaws while condoning theirs or say she’s wrong.  She is on point and anyone black if they are being honest with themselves would agree.  At least in America.  The earlier black America recognizes that, the better off we will be.

BRXRKR: Bloodlines is a good time.  I have read the other 3 volumes in the BRZRKR series so am now happy to continue by seeing Unute's journey prior to working with the government.  The storylines are awesome and endears me more to him.  He is a protector, lover, and a good bloody time. The illustrations are also hilarious;  the expressions are very wild and grab the attention.  I loved them.  I enjoyed this book probably more that the original series.  Can't wait for more.  I received as a #netgalleyarc.

Vol 3 of BRZRKR was gory and violent just like the other two volumes.  You get an ending/origin to Unute's story.  I was definitely confused through a lot of the the ending.  Lots of elements with the military and technology.  l definitely didn't see some plot lines coming.  Overall, I enjoyed it and am happy with the ending.  Or is it (haha).  Happy the story is continuing with Bloodlines.  

Great followup to a bloody gorey time.  Can't wait to read the next book.

Mockingbird Vol 1 is a whole chaotic mess, just like the main character Bobbi.  The different chapters just around so it is confusing how they relate to each other.  However, author states it is supposed to be that way and come together in later editions.  I was somewhat able to piece them together.  That said it is a good time. Bobbi is hilarious, smart, sexy, strong and bad ass.  I love all the science details strewn throughout the book. And the outfits are hilarious. Great series.

I enjoyed Vol 2 of Mockingbird; however I did not like how the second have switched to an Avengers story where she was not the main focus.  I wanted more of just her.  That said, chp 6-8 were enjoyable, fun, and mysterious.  Bobbi is a fun character and attracts some oddballs.  

Another great installment of Lady Killer Vol 2. I love she is going into business for herself.  And the historical angle was handled delicately and done very well.  Looks like you don't really know who you working with and there are even more dangerous people out there than her.  This was a great book.  Wish I had more volumes.

Mental illness is dangerous. And unfortunately there are people out there like this guy looking to harm people looking to buy stuff online. Story was fast paced and entertaining. Wouldn't mind more details about acquisition of the girls. Quick read.

The Lost Apothecary has a beautiful cover and is a good story.  Loved the feminism of a woman helping get revenge for other women when she herself had lost so much at the hand of a man.  However, I felt like some aspects of the story didn’t make sense and were foolish to be believable.  That rubbed me the wrong way.  And some parts were essayish.  But it was well written, great pacing, and entertaining. And beautiful book cover. 

Bitter is a quick Snow White retelling with gangsters and a smart victim.  I enjoyed the plot twists and revenge.  The ending shocked me.  I did wonder how this guy doesn't recognize the girl after only 2 years though.
