Extremely frustrating and made me angry .... but at least I know that I am not useless as using things such as Siri, it is just that the world wasn't made for my gender.

I had conflicting thoughts throughout this book, but overall I really enjoyed it despite its flaws. Please don't ever talk to me about chapter 54, I don't want to cry again, thanks.

You can feel the love of fantasy as you read this book. It has tropes woven throughout but deals with them in a new way that makes you want to read more. Remy is a red witch, in a world where being a red witch is dangerous. When she is thrown into an adventure she never anticipated, Remy wonders if she could change the world for the better!

It was great to jump back in with Stevie, Nate and Janelle as they delve into a new mystery outside of Ellingham Academy, which made the book feel fresh and interesting. David returned and was somewhat tolerable. I look forward to seeing more from the (scooby) squad!

This was such a fun read, that made me feel things (mostly hate for men not written by women). It's a romance with a slight (blink and you'll miss it) enemies to lovers, and lots of trauma unpacking. It works fantastically well!

This is one of those books that you just need to read if you are from the UK, and have ever used the term Chav.

This is horror, but somehow horror light, but the scary parts will give you actual chills. It's a weird mixture of folklore and horror, one which doesn't seem to work together until near the end, at which point they blend well. My first T. Kingfisher, and unlikely my last.

My first re-read of 2021 and this was even more enjoyable a second time around. Eerie, spooky and shocking, this will give you chills beyond what you would expect from a YA.

Set in Scotland, this book follows 10-year-old Lauren as she and her dad try to live their life with the disappearance of her mother 10 years prior still looming over them. A mix of paranormal and domestic thriller, Pine blends all its elements well, approaching the horror of the storyline from a 10-year-olds perspective.

It's a short story collection, so some are misses and some are absolute hits! Even the misses aren't bad, just not at the same level as the others. I absolutely loved the first story (with its mini-stories - storyception?), and the nutcracker story was like an earworm that I keep thinking about. It's a great addition to building the Grishaverse!
