I never planned on reading this series, but finally decided to give it a shot. I did enjoy a lot of this book (I am a HUGE fan of Beuty and Beast retellings - they may jam), however the third act's drama, just wasn't for me. I loved the friendship between Lucian and Feyre, their banter making me genuinely laugh at times.

I LOVE gothic horror, especially when the author gets the atmosphere just right. Noemà receives a letter from her cousin who is struggling with her new marriage/husband, and her mental health. Noemà travels to her cousins new home, a decaying mansion in the middle of nowhere. Upon arrival, it becomes clear not all is as it seems, and it seems as though the house itself may be alive!

This is a dark, ugly and nauseating book, and everyone should read it. It will make you feel uncomfortable at every turn, delving into yourself to question what you would do if human flesh was the only meat available. Tender is the Flesh will definitely burrow into your skin and not let up, and as such I wholeheartedly believe everyone should pick it up.

This novella follows Nikesh Shukla as he finds a way to connect with his late mother by learning how to cook, and in particular her recipes. A sweet, emotional and heartwarming novella, The Time Machine brings to light how important cooking can be to bring a family together, with many wonderful memories tied into our senses.

I read this book as part of the Blackthorn book tour for The Dark Chorus, as such I was given a free copy, but my thoughts and review is entirely my own.
The Dark Chorus by Ashley Meggitt is one of those books that will take you on a ride from start to finish. You follow The Boy as he looks to save his mothers lost soul, helping his friends he meets along the way. However, do not think this a cute YA book about a boy making friends and learning to find his place in the world, The Dark Chorus quickly shows its hands as a gruesome horror that takes you on a trip through other worlds, ritual killings and child abuse.

*big sigh* Why was this book so so good? This bumped the series as a whole from a solid 4 to a 5 star read. I am just in love with ending, and the way in which characters arcs were completed. I just loved it so much and will definitely be re-reading this series as a whole!

The second in the series so it is hard to review without spoilers, but what I will say is that this was a little bland after the excitement of the plot setup in book one. However, I really enjoyed the character development throughout, and the introduction of Sturmhond (#SturmhondSupremacy).

This short folk tale offers some background to the Grishaverse, but can be read as a standalone. A rather clever fox learns that he may not be able to outsmart everyone he meets.

I cannot gush enough about how much I enjoyed this book. Yadriel has accidentally summoned a ghost when trying to prove his gender to his traditional Latinx family. Now Yadriel must solve a murder, whilst hiding his newly found powers from his father.
