Ya know this was actually pretty decent! There's definitely a lot of F1 in this so fans of the sport will be satisfied! The FMC was a tad annoying at parts, but I will definitely continue this series!

I almost DNF'd at about the halfway point - the plot itself wasn't grabbing me fully but I was semi interested in the romance. By the end I was more invested and so maybe I'll read book 2?

I just love a book that follows Lestat he’s such a diva. Idk if I can adequately describe this right now but I think the theme of perspective is very intriguing. Like how Lestat having been a powerful vampire for so long finds the human body to be weak and disgusting, but David being an elderly human finds it powerful. Also I think there’s an interesting discussion around “self” separate from a body as the characters personality doesn’t change despite the body swapping. I like David as a character so I really liked their arc together. Slay for him that he got an upgrade

I took a break from this series bc I DNF'd the 4th book, but then I did some more reading up on Greek mythology and was then in the mood for retellings.

I still struggle with the worldbuilding in this series a bit - mainly in that "the 13" gods are positions and different characters from mythology can be in those positions. Meaning people have their like born names and then their position-name ex 'Zeus' and that gets confusing for me.

All that being said this is a poly group relationship which I'm here for. Did everyone maybe deal completely with their past trauma? maybe not. Also I expecting a bit more tragedy at the end (especially since that word kept being used?) but it's HEA fwiw. Politically some things happened at the end and so wondering how that might play out in future books? So far my fav books in this series are the poly relationships so take that where you will.

Idk once we got past the Sleepless in Seattle vibes I was just not further intrigued. I didn't feel like there was enough character development esp on Aiden's side when we get his pov? Just another man afraid of commitment idk. I also found Lucie's inability to recognize flirting when it's happening to her or when she's doing it naive.
