Lots of good information but it's sitting in between self-promotion and some very stereotypical/transphobic conceptions of womanhood.

This was more of a memoir than what I expected (a how-to on buying less). It was still enjoyable... A quick read.

Definitely enjoyed this. Not too much new information to me, but it's definitely a useful and inspirational resource.

This had a lot of cool information! I'm excited to incorporate medicinal mushrooms into my diet and see how they impact my day-to-day life. Lots of yummy-sounding recipes too. Currently working on copying them into my recipe notebook so I can return this one to the library. Definitely recommend for people seeking alternative medicine and healing practices, or anyone who wants a lot of tasty-sounding mushroom meals.

Paasch's journey into the enneagram (milleneagram) feels like your no-nonsense friend sitting down and giving you the tough-love pep talk you need. I appreciate this book's candor and voice, as well as the insight it provides into the enneagram (PROUD 3w4 RIGHT HERE).

Def recommend this to anyone wanting an intro or primer to the enneagram before diving into some deeper reading--which I'm excited to get into. Paasch provides a lovely list of further reading at the end of this book. Peep me scouring the stacks at the local library.

This book was not what I expected--the title and blurb are incredibly misleading. This is more of a memoir of the author's relationship with one of his cats than insight into cats as a species. Even the more generalized bits seemed to be haphazardly written in (and this is quasi-admitted to in the acknowledgements).

I wanted to like this, and I think there was good information in it, but the author comes from a very privileged viewpoint. This would not be useful to people in lower classes.

Lots of useful information here. I feel like I got a good primer in chakras and am excited to be able to research more.

I wanted to like this more than I did... but it mostly seemed to me like a watered down version of Annihilation but for a YA audience. There wasn't a great payoff for the story. I appreciated the queer (specifically lesbian) representation, but also felt like the relationship storyline was really out of place and undeserved. It felt forced.

By the time I finished this book, I found that I really appreciated what Rubin had to offer. I think this framework is really useful for understanding myself and others.
