Definitely not one of my favorite reads. It took me very long to read and rarely kept my interest... this book is not for me, but I do know a lot of people like it, so if you want to read it, I say try it.

I will not be reading the second book in this series.

Definitely one of my favorite books of the year. This is an amazing novel about the intricacies of friendship and how manipulation and the need for control can change the lives of people. Tartt's writing is so captivating. Even when it seems like the story is moving along slowly, I still was compelled and drawn in by her expert narration. It seemed as if the narrator was talking directly to me. Highly, highly recommend.
