Molly Harper is by far one of my favorite authors when I'm looking for something to make me laugh. Better Homes and Hauntings is no different, but it definitely has a darker tone as the main characters try to uncover the long buried family secrets haunting a mansion they're renovating. Even with the darker aspects (murder, angry ghosts, possible possessions, and an obsessive stalker) Molly Harper mixes in fun moments that keep it from becoming too dark. 

Whether you're a fan of the musical Chicago or not, this look at the women who inspired the original play is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about true crime that centers on women. If you are a fan, you'll enjoy getting to know how characters like Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly came into being.
