Audiobook: Love the dual timeline! There were 3 POVs (with 3 narrators) that I wish were labeled within the audiobook chapters. I definitely had no clue where this was going & that made it fun. I will admit that I had to look up someone's review because I was getting confused on point of view since they weren't labeled and with work having to start and stop. Overall though I do recommend this!

Audiobook: I enjoyed this one so much more than the first novella! This had one of my favorite tropes: force proximity. I thought this wrapped up nicely as a novella with complete closure. Also love the spicy bits!

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Dahlia Adler & Wednesday Books for an advance copy of this book in exchanged for a honest review!

This will be published on June 7th.

Amber wants to be head cheerleader and will do whatever it takes to get that spot next year. One thing that she hasn't shared thinking it would jeopardize her chances at getting the position is that she is queer and into girls. A way that she covers this is by dating a football player Miguel Santiago who also has a secret of his own. He is a closeted player so they help each other out. Amber was never a fan of the decease student as he was black mailing Miguel and threatening to out him and was a homophobe.

Jack short for Jaclyn was recruited to be the quarterback after the school's former quarterback Robbie died. And because of this did not make things easy for her to make friends or even to get through the school day. Jack has a hard exterior and comes off as not so nice even to those like Amber who is nice to her. She is having a hard enough time with teammates who cannot accept that 1) a girl is on the team let alone quarterback and 2) that Robbie is gone.

Amber doesn't like how the football team and the cheerleaders are treating Jack. She knows that she doesn't deserve it especially because of how she knew Robbie was. She doesn't just want to help Jack fit in but also finds her insanely attractive. Jack also starts to develop feelings for Amber in return which makes things completed since she is not out at school.

I haven't read too many YA sapphic books but I thought this one was enjoyable! It had lots of football talk, high school culture, enemies to friends to lovers trope.

I love when books are told from two POVs so that was such a bonus. I really love the relationship that Amber and Jack built throughout the course of the book. It started off rocky between the two characters for good reason. Jack was an outsider and didn't know who they could trust.

One thing that I didn't like but it's just a personal preference are long chapters. I wish the POVs were broken into separate chappers. I think what is what initially turned me off when I started reading this because my kindle would show that I had 34 minutes to the next chapter. BUT once I started to get into the storyline, the chapters didn't feel as long.

Audiobook: I liked that there were 3 POVs with three different narrators. I was definitely more invested in the present POVs than the past. I think missed brilliance of this. Please check out other reviews & the content warnings.

Audiobook - I was unsure how this was going to translate well to audio as I heard this was mixed media being written in the form of letters but it wasn't bad at all! The beginning started off a little slow but then as Violetta grew, that's when the story really began. The story is over the course of 100 years when she was born during the Spanish flu up until 2020 with Covid. It was such a beautiful story and I highly recommend it.

"Love isn't always easy, but hard doesn't necessarily equal bad."

Adina is in her 20s, lives at home with mom, works multiple jobs, single and just trying to navigate life in New York City. She works part time as a spin instructor, barista and freelances for a magazine called Tea. She is constantly trying to prove herself to her editor Derek. She came up with a story idea of going to a small town that is being "threatened" by a rich businessman who is trying to revitalize the town. Adina's only knowledge of small towns is those she sees in Hallmark movies. Pleasant Hollow isn't anywhere she has ever been before. Any route she took with her article turned into dead ends. One thing she did not expect was to fall in love. More importantly, falling in love with someone who was not from the small but from the city.

I thought this book was super cute! It definitely gave me the Hallmark vibes. It did get me excited for the holiday movies to start appear for Christmas in July.

I love the relationship that Adina had with her mother and her best friend Kate. I especially loved her relationship with Finn and how supportive he was with her article. I actually was not expecting spice, thought it was going to be closed door but to my surprised there was a little.

This book started off a little slow for me. I also was under the weather so that could have played a role but once we got to the meat of it all, I was fully invested and wanted to see how Adina made out with her article. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a friends to lover, smalltown feels, fan of Hallmark/Lifetime movies and of course those who love a HEA.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Katharine McGee & Random House for an advance copy of this book!

This book will be published on May 31st.

When the opportunity came to get an advance copy of this book, I had not had prior knowledge to this series and what to expect. After backtracking and reading the first two in the series I instantly fell in love with this world.

“Maybe growing up meant letting go of the desires that no longer fits you and discovering new ones buried in layers of yourself that you hadn’t known existed.”

The book did start off a little slow for me and I was kind of floating out when Beatrice was discussing all the politics and the rules. But once we got past that, it really revved up for me.

Going to do a mini round up of each character.

Beatrice: Beatrice is coming to terms with being the Queen of America. She is learning to navigate this position as well as balancing her relationship with Teddy and trying to make friends.

Samantha: Samantha did a lot of growing and soul searching on what she wants. She loves Marshall and wants to have a normal life but isn’t sure if she wants to give up her crown.

Daphne: Daphne learns that her title may be stripped and that she no longer has the money she once had. She holds on tight to her relationship with Jefferson even more because of this.

Nina: Nina’s feelings for Jefferson becomes even more complicated. She pairs up with Daphnie to work together to take down an ultimate mean girl.

I love how each MC had their own storyline and yet were all similarly connected. One theme that ran through them was friendship and the sense of belonging. The relationships all made me so happy. I really thought we were going to get a new Daphne but we saw some rewarding qualities and almost redeemed herself. I cannot wait to see how Beatrice continues to grow in her role and take on the world.

Without saying too much the way the ending was, it has led me to believe that there will be a 4th installment?! I am here for it!!! I am also excited to read the novella that is a prequel called "Inheritance."

Everyone should read this book & follow the author on social media.

Audiobook - I didn't think this family could get crazier with their antics. And it kind of was a bit much especially on Meddy's big day. It was a little much for me. I wanted to enjoy more than I did. If there is a 3rd, I would still continue with the series because at the heart of the story is still the love within the family.

Thank you so much to Tessa Bailey for an advance copy of this book!

This book will be published on June 6th.

I have only read 3 Tessa Bailey books (4 including this one) and I can tell you one thing, she knows how to write a good grumpy/sunshine character.  I didn’t think we could get any broodier than fisherman Brendan Taggart but Brendan has met his match with Myles Sumner.

Taylor Bassey and her brother Jude went all out for a vacation to Cape Cod. Taylor picked out a house on StayInn.com that was everything either could ask for. Except for when she saw holes in the wall which then turned into finding the dead body of the owner of the rental property. The owner’s sister hires a bounty hunter to help figure out who murdered her brother. Myles Sumner is a former detective who just is trying to get the job done. He is instantly attractive to Taylor but knows that his attraction is only going to distract him. Taylor wants to help him solve the murder. She has a hard time with being brave and doing things that are not safe. She hopes all her hours of listening to a true crime podcast would help her solve this murder.

One thing with this that I have not decided if I love or hate is Myles abrasiveness when it came to flirting with Taylor. It was VERY bold and borderline harassment with what he was saying to her. But at the same time it was very sexy and I loved reading it in a book.

I love the dual point of views and I love how we got the spicier parts majority in the male point of view.  I also love that this blended both a mystery and a love story.

Lastly, I am fairly certain that this was the spiciest book of hers that I read. Legit blushing while reading. I cannot wait for my friends to read this so we can discuss!
