My Killer Vacation
by Tessa Bailey
fast-paced
Thank you so much to Tessa Bailey for an advance copy of this book!
This book will be published on June 6th.
I have only read 3 Tessa Bailey books (4 including this one) and I can tell you one thing, she knows how to write a good grumpy/sunshine character. I didn’t think we could get any broodier than fisherman Brendan Taggart but Brendan has met his match with Myles Sumner.
Taylor Bassey and her brother Jude went all out for a vacation to Cape Cod. Taylor picked out a house on StayInn.com that was everything either could ask for. Except for when she saw holes in the wall which then turned into finding the dead body of the owner of the rental property. The owner’s sister hires a bounty hunter to help figure out who murdered her brother. Myles Sumner is a former detective who just is trying to get the job done. He is instantly attractive to Taylor but knows that his attraction is only going to distract him. Taylor wants to help him solve the murder. She has a hard time with being brave and doing things that are not safe. She hopes all her hours of listening to a true crime podcast would help her solve this murder.
One thing with this that I have not decided if I love or hate is Myles abrasiveness when it came to flirting with Taylor. It was VERY bold and borderline harassment with what he was saying to her. But at the same time it was very sexy and I loved reading it in a book.
I love the dual point of views and I love how we got the spicier parts majority in the male point of view. I also love that this blended both a mystery and a love story.
Lastly, I am fairly certain that this was the spiciest book of hers that I read. Legit blushing while reading. I cannot wait for my friends to read this so we can discuss!
