My second novel by Ishiguro, picked this up because, even though I read it maaany years ago, I still consider Never Let Me Go one of my favorite books ever.
And this time around, once again, patience is needed since the pace is not the most dynamic one. I think maybe the editing was not the best? Felt that at some moments there were paragraphs and paragraphs of unnecesary descriptions, when at other times I wish I had known more about the universe it is set and secondary characters.
SpoilerDevastating
ending, just how I like it, just like last time with Never Let Me Go. Ishiguro, once again, delivered.

Even though I liked this book and found it cozy and accessible at best, it fell short for me in many aspects.
SpoilerThe love interest/side character (and all the other females, actually) have no depth whatsoever, to the point that at the end she needs to be rescued and saved by the protagonist.
Too predictable for my taste, but would recommend to a different demographic, like middle schoolers and older children to encourage them to read more and boost their interest in literature.
