Royals & Rogues Anthology
Angelique Armae, J.C. Makk, Carole Mortimer, Susan Stephens, Shelli Stevens, Heather Long
I am rating the book 3 star solely because I loved the first story. Or it'd have been two.
Her Marine Prince by Heather Long 4
This is the best story of the book. The leads are strong, competent and sensible. They don't literally jump into the bed within 24 hours of meeting. They the attraction is evident, they spend time getting to know about each other. Also, I liked the training process.
Alexandre by Carole Mortimer 2.5
This one had a very bland mystery but hot scenes. Not my choice for a story.
Seducing the Princess by Susan Stephens 1.5
The characters didn't seem to connect much and the scenes were even interesting to read.
Corrupted by the Prince by Shelli Stevens 2.5
It started out well, but the ending had me disappointed. I expected a little more emotion from the characters.
His Royal Redemption by J.C. Makk/Angelique Armae 3
Mainly because I love the nieces. They were smart, sassy and adorable. The story felt a little rushed and dealing with Boris fell flat.

This is pretty much a simple and sweet story of two totally different people who fall in love. The story-line was uncomplicated with good humor and glimpses to the depth of both the leads. An enjoyable book for a long trip.
2 stars because the first chapter was good. I thought I liked the non-maid heroine (why did they have to choose a title like that!) to a certain point.
The rest was pretty routine stuff. The end had too many happy details except for the sister part which will continue in the next book. Not sure if I'll be reading it soon.
People who like the romance genre exclusively will probably love this book. It has all the necessary ingredients.

I haven't read the other works of this series, but that wasn't an issue. A simple and sweet tale without too much drama.
This is my first book by the author. I don't understand why the story moved so slowly. It seemed to take forever to finish reading it. The spark between the main characters wasn't great. I'm all for people with flaws learning to forgive themselves and others, but here Shaw acted like she was a saint and Ben was an ass. Only if Shaw was slightly more sensible, less optimistic and not-so-pushover at times, the concept of a "strong" heroine would have worked better.
Okay, it's 2.5 stars.
The heroine is perfect, but she has grit even when she clings to her for too long. The hero is the typical stuff with good looks, stone heart, blah, blah...
Luckily, the book is small so it doesn't take much time to read. The conversations in the last few pages were good. Dialogues and emotions flowed well.
But, the overall effect dimmed. I mean, the heroine needs time to rethink her decisions, her life, her priorities, but here she is falling in love and sleeping with another man (hero).
The secondary characters weren't really likable, sorry.
