New to Big: How Established Businesses Can Grow Like Startups
David Kidder, Christina Wallace
DID NOT FINISH
I started this for work and they just never did anything with it so I stopped reading it since it wasn't interesting to me on my own.
I think historical fiction just isn't for me. No shade to the book and no issues with the content.
The book is very slow paced, to me, and I just didn't care about any of the characters. Things are finally starting to happen 45% of the way in, but not enough to keep me interested. I don't find myself wanting to pick up the book and after this much of the book that's the sign for me to read something else.
Something about the writing just wasn't for me. I got about 100 pages in without feeling compelled to pick it up, and then I stopped to read some other books. I got about 10 pages farther in and it just felt so slow and was more apparent that it just wasn't my vibe.
Over 200 pages in and there's still no plot. If you're looking for barely cobbled together sex scenes then you'll love it. Maybe it gets better, but I'm not sticking around to find out.
I just wasn't compelled in any way. I didn't connect with any of the characters and I found it hard to motivate myself to read it.
I just really hated the way Iris was narrated. I wasn't sucked in by the writing to start, and the second chapter of Iris pushed me over the edge
I didn't like the writing style at all, and as a free Kindle Unlimited book it's not worth suffering through.
