I fell in love with the characters and their stories in this absolutely heartbreaking omegaverse. You really get to explore numerous points of view in a way that is easy to follow and adds so much depth to the story.

Full disclosure: I did not read the first two duet in this series, but did not feel lost at all. The way everything is explained in the narrative is very natural and quickly gets you up to speed. I am totally going to be reading the first duet as soon as I possibly can.

Tropes and themes include:
- Omegaverse
- Why choose (MMMFM)
- Slowburn
- Groveling
- Second-chance romance
- Heats/knots
- Hurt/comfort
- Scent matches

I appreciate that there is a user-added trigger warning for sexual assault and readers do recognize what happened was assault.

HOWEVER, the authors don’t treat it as assault. They treat it as a misunderstanding and I absolutely hate that. It completely ruined the book for me and I’m still annoyed by it.

I rated the audiobook 4.5 stars from my initial read. I didn’t remember this happening in the book before physically re-reading it, but it’s also been a while since my initial read

Probably my least favorite couple with such a flimsy reason for the initial hate. Literally one conversation could have saved so many issues.

The only reason this is a 2.5 and not a 2 is because of the  world building and lore we were given

Not in Love

Ali Hazelwood

DID NOT FINISH: 40%

These characters are so insufferably stubborn. I couldn’t stand it anymore.

More importantly: JUST SAY RUE IS AUTISTIC INSTEAD OF HITTING US OVER THE HEAD WITH CODING! JUST COMMIT TO IT!

Taming the Wolf

Virginie Marconato

DID NOT FINISH: 10%

The scene where
Merewen has a wet dream and wakes up asking for Wolf and then shoves her breast in his mouth
was a bit much imo and really threw me off

There were a ton of inconsistencies in how much the characters knew about werewolves. Owen just all of a sudden knew things about mates that he hadn’t pages ago.

The only redeeming quality of this book was that Stasia, at times, took charge sexually without it going into full-blown fendom. Owen was totally on board with it too.
