This is my favorite of the Bound by Flame novellas so far! (Even though there was a miscommunication.) I personally would have loved for it to be longer. I wanted to see Alistair and Nora together and bond more before what happened at the end.

This was a fantastic Little Red Riding Hood retelling! Ranulf and Scarlette were a fantastic couple. They were a great pairing and I love them together,

It felt a bit like a Pixar or Disney movie sometimes in the plot itself, but there was definitely some spice.

This was an absolute delight. We have elemental powers, nobility, sailors, and glass-blowing. Yes, glass-blowing. I adored everything about this book and only wish it was a full-length novel and a little more fleshed out.

So Not My Mr. Wright is a clean college romance between a professor and his grad student. Fake dating is one of the main tropes that drew me to it.

The autism representation with Seb was honestly really good. I related to a lot of his observations on social niceties. The bond that formed between Clare and Seb was heartwarming to see.

My biggest critique was that the narrative voice for Micah felt a bit inconsistent. He either came across as a crotchety old man or mentally in his late 20s instead of early 40s.

I enjoyed following Wren's journey back to herself.
Flynn was also an interesting choice as a love interest. I was surprised at first when reading from his POV. (Their connection is a little bit insta-lovey, just FYI.)
There are tons of twists and turns that definitely kept me on my toes.

Overall, do recommend.

Overall, this was a Hallmark Christmas movie in a book. Topaz Falls was a lovely place to visit. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the ranch and the characters who live and work there.

I feel like there were a loooot of side characters to learn and keep track of, but each had a distinct personality.

My biggest critique is that some parts were pretty overwritten. It really needed adjusted and simplified in editing.

In general, I liked the romance. I saw the Pride & Prejudice influence and loved it. The casual LGBT rep was also super great.

I expected a standalone since that is how the series is presented. I was left with way too many questions but no direction of where to go for answers. I do want those answers, though, because the mythology and lore were intriguing.
