This book started slow but then started to totally blow my mind. Great discussions of what makes us identify with comics and icons, and the unique tools at the disposal of the medium. McCloud gave me a lot to think about with this info-packed, well executed comic.

A really great coming of age story set in a war-torn Iran I knew far too little about. Satrapi really accomplishes something her struggling younger self would be proud of with this well composed graphic memoir.

This book was extremely readable, despite being hard and heartbreaking often. The narrator's voice is so compelling that I was easily immersed in the story.

An outstanding collection. Each piece is of the highest quality, honest and thought provoking. Hard to read but well worth it.

An instantly gripping memoir that never lets up, Marzano-Lesnevich writes beautifully and thoughtfully about two sad and awful stories, and the parallels she finds between her own life and the murder she meticulously researches.

I had somewhat misplaced expectations about the story Janet Mock would tell in her second memoir, thinking it would delve more deeply into her decision to write Redefining Realness and otherwise begin speaking openly about her story. This book began earlier and was much more about her first love, school and beginning professional life. I enjoyed her writing and the thoughtful way she thinks about her journey that I expected after reading Redefining Realness.

These books are such masterpieces. I love this world and these characters, and I'm glad that *spoilers.*

Cw for rape, I was quite upset. Also while I'm here, it's a war book and there's much violence, including against animals. My heart is a little broken and a lot alive with this novel's pervasive sense of wonder.

Loved this. So intriguing and thought provoking. Characters I loved with a story fitting around so many ideas to explore. I can't wait to read more Delany.

I continue to delight in these books. I cried and laughed out loud all in the same chapter. And always with the food!

I flew through this book and even forgive the love triangle.
