A very artful collection of short stories. Collins' background in film is apparent in many of these stories, which come alive with carefully chosen details. They were sometimes hard to follow for that reason, but at the same time I was drawn to the creativity and often moved by the small and intimate stories.

Light and funny, I flew easily through this book, despite the ebook taking minutes and multiple battery percentage points to load each time, wtf? Kaling is a wonderful combination of just like me and my opposite in different ways. Sometimes the humor didn't hit quite right, but overall I laughed a lot and also appreciated the more thoughtful moments. Mindy in New York + Sam Cook forever.

I by no means read this book cover to cover, but to end the year I'm going to call it quits, as I've read probably as much as I'm going to in serious efforts. I really enjoy the setting of this role playing game, and the alien races introduced are exciting and offer several rejections of human artifacts like the gender binary. I find the rules to be on the side of unnecessarily complex, as I pretty much expect from Pathfinder. Still, lots of fresh and exciting things here and the game is fun to play.

Ng weaves an intricate tale that I was very sad to see end. I am so impressed by the way she lays each of her characters bare, exploring what makes them tick and jostle against one another.

A perfect read-in-a-day thriller. The pacing was on point and the characters quickly captured my heart.

This book isn't in my usual wheelhouse but I enjoyed it a lot without being able to really put a finger on why. I was just rooting for Kitab! It's interesting how fast technology changes, because a lot of this book is influenced by it's setting in a world where Facebook and social media is still kind of new to people, which feels like such a far off time even though it's only a few years. Anyway, I'm still thinking about why I liked this book but I will say I think it's going to stick with me. Also I'm not one who is interested in ranting about how technology is ruining us, and this refreshingly does not stray too far into that despite tackling the issue of what's too much retreating into oneself and the internet for the protagonist.

This was such a fluffy happy-making read and I just purely enjoyed it.

I loved Borderline, but the sequel was better. Read this series! It's everything good about urban fantasy with decidedly less garbage stuff to skim past than some. Ahhhh.

An enjoyable read. I think my biggest struggle with the book was difficultly separating the book's characters with the fictionalized versions of the authors I'm familiar with from their sketch comedy and advice show. That being said, the story flew by, made me laugh and touched also on serious topics in honest ways.
