This issue was powerful and upset me very much (in a way Gillen intended, I'm sure.) Lotay's art was incredible and she captured Tara beautifully.Still reeling.
I hate not having Jaime McKelvie illustrating this arc, because I adore his work and really identify the characters with his portrayal of them. However, this issue was okay in spite of that. It had an appropriately mournful feel, and the ever present sense that we're missing a lot of information drives the desire to read more forward even when my favorite characters no longer can.
Really love the pacing with which the members of the Pantheon are being introduced and explored. Each are unique and obviously really well developed even beyond what we are given of them.
New discoveries and even more new questions in this unbelievably rich story. This issue was my favorite of the last few and delivered on what I really love about this series, lots of intrigue and characters with very different complex relationships to what's happening. Also, I highly recommend the WicDiv playlist which I just started listening to, and going back through the issues with Kieron Gillen's author notes. All very high quality.
Ahh! The end of the Fandemonium arc was so intense. I felt sad and scared and happy and mad and confused in a good way all in very quick succession. I don't know what to think except that I'm very eagerly awaiting the story's continuation.
Audible "oh no" as I turned the page and discovered I was at the end of the last issue in print so far. I am so crushed to have to wait for more of this story but so geeked to be along for the ride, and to be joining the great fan experience with other unseen fellow readers.
Sakhmet's fleshed out in quite the intense little whirlwind, and then THAT INEVITABLE CLIFFHANGER! Can't wait for April.
Oh my God, it's all so worth it when it all comes together.
