This short story, a prequel in a way to Ninefox Gambit, felt lackluster in comparison to the novel. I am assuming a large portion of my lower level of satisfaction with this story is due to my struggles with the shorter story medium. I felt that the setting was explained more plainly, and woven less intricately into the flow of the story. I'm not sure if that had a lot to do with the fact that I'd already read the novel, which so totally blew me away. Lee's writing is still very enjoyable, but overall this story was just less than I'd expected.

This book was a gift for me right now. Interacting with the protagonist's mental health was weirdly simultaneously challenging and comforting.

I loved this book and continually couldn't wait to pick it back up. Short chapters make me really happy, and this story flowed easily all the way through.

This is why I love Adam Silvera. He nails simultaneously uplifting and heartbreaking, interesting premises, and forever in my heart characters.

I just loved this book. It's delightfully written, with great characters and explores many layers of thought provoking topics.

The pacing is a little fast and hard to follow at times in this issue but there are also some really beautiful moments, most notably the touching one page scene between Laura and Cassandra.

I think I might explode. This comic is everything I want stories to be.
