Packed with information on the Early history of the developing world but Thucydides lays it out in the beginning, it's not a fun read. It's not going to be a book with excitement and entertainment. It's simply "just the facts".
I read a Duke publishing version of this that was riddled with punctuation errors, making the dense subject basically inscrutable. Fueled by caffeine, I could power through paragraphs only to lose the thread and lost track of what the author was dancing around. It felt like this was transcribed from a speech, more conversational than literate in content. I'd like to read another version of this and supplement it with notes for greater understanding.
Very approachable and feels very accessible!
