loved the worldbuilding for this duology, though the main relationship was not very subtly brought back together. i love me some morally grey takes, but it felt a bit forced imo. i still lived for their fluffy moments for sure. the book also took itself a touch too seriously, at least imo. it was just always very high stakes and very dramatic always. i almost wish it had had more pages so it could cook more, but it was still a fun read :)

the spice in this book was some of the best i've read in a published book in my life, but the romance, or w/e you'd call the situation, was somewhat aggravating to me. i'm glad i got to read the smut, but i do not think my rating can be higher than 3.25 due to the confusing nature of scarlett and lukas' "relationship"

suzanne collins refuses to release her grip on me. i got SO CLOSE to crying, but i made it. this book crushed me so much. it was so fun every time a character showed up that i knew or at least knew who they were related to. what a great way to display the tragedy that was haymitch's games
