I'm not sure if it is just that this doesn't work well on audio, but I didn't love Poirot in short story format. It was all of his arrogance and none of his brilliance.

I liked the tv show better, but this was still really good. I loved the psychology of it. I also love that Laurie actually did kill Jacob in the book, because in the show he survives. It was more satisfying. I definitely believe Jacob killed both people.

I don't care how gothic it is--
I'm not rooting for the 42 year old man and the CHILD half his age whom he marries and drags off to his creepy house and his creepy staff to be in love forever. I'm certainly not rooting for the man who shoots his pregnant wife. And under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are we rooting for this insipid, useless, INFANT to insist that Maxim should cover up the murder so they can live happily ever after.
Gross, gross, gross.
This was so terrible in every possible way. I googled the ending and I'm so glad I didn't waste my time.
