Jesse Custer is a flawed preacher whose flaws only become more aggravated when he is possessed by a dark creature from heaven. He and his ex-girlfriend Tulip and new friend Cassidy end up on some gruesome adventures. A dark and bloody story, but fascinating all the same. Even as a person who rarely reads graphic novels I found it thoroughly engrossing.

A lovelorn college student gets the date of his dreams -- but unfortunately she's only interested in his body. As food.

When Ken gets an organ transplant after a near fatal accident, no one realizes the organs he is given belong to the beautiful dead ghoul. Now he finds himself with a craving for human flesh and a serious amount of self disgust. Violent and hilarious, if a little predictable.

Tons of worldbuilding in this volume which is great, as Ken still has a lot to learn about ghouls.

A cute story about a girl who inherits a house full of demons.

The art is actually worse than the first book, as hard as that is to believe: in one panel Rue's mother is helping her dress, and in the next panel on the very same page both of them are wearing completely different dresses. I don't mind when there is less detail in a small frame, but Naifeh is a disaster. It's still ridiculously difficult to tell any of the characters apart.

There are a few new characters in this one, which adds drama but not depth because their relationship to the other characters is never fleshed out. There is a lot of good action, at least, and the ending was exciting.
