Super super cute and I loved the illustrations. Not much of a plot, but precious enough that it's worth reading.

The woman who runs my book club picked this book and asked us to just read it without looking up anything about it. I think that's definitely the best way to approach this book, so all I'm going to say is that it is strange and melancholy and sometimes funny and definitely worth the hour or so it will take to read.

I really wanted to like this because the premise is so fun. But I think I just don't like comic books. There's a lot going on and it's very disjointed, and I am so tired of reading stories set during WWII.

It's very cute, it really is. But I hate the way the panels are arranged, and it just feels like it was slapped together.

I loved seeing Atlantis. But the excessive amounts of backstory were annoying, and there were all these weird fourth-wall-breaking moments that just didn't work, like characters claiming they have all sorts of backstory and even a reference to Bitch Planet. I also don't enjoy pages of religious propaganda in my comic books.

I liked all the archaeological stuff but this volume is as flat and stiff as its predecessors.

This one upped the trash-ante by turning every passage into a song for no reason. And, seriously, name-dropping Hogwarts?

And as for the actual plot, or what little there is of it, did we really need to add in four new main characters after all the others barely have enough screen time as it is? AND DID ONE OF THEM REALLY NEED TO BE BATGIRL WHEN WE ALREADY HAVE BATWOMAN AND A GAGGLE OF TEENAGE BATGIRLS?

Absolutely magical. Miller has this absolutely inhuman ability to find reason in even the most absurd moments of myth.

This book is gruesome, vulgar, scary, heart-pounding, and totally un-put-down-able. Wendig's writing is frenetic and exciting but he never loses control of the story and his pacing is flawless. The characters are all fascinating, and though not a one of them is likable they are all compelling. Can't wait to read the next one.

This book is gruesome and fast-paced and it's heroine is gruesome and foul-mouthed. It didn't have as much depth as the first one but the pacing was still excellent. It mostly focuses on Miriam herself and her past, and her struggle between being a good person and a bad one. And oh yeah, there's a serial killer that she has to hunt down and stop, despite the fact that all every meal in the last few days has been coffee and cigarettes.
