Oh my gosh! I was reading an ebook that had other books included all in the same thing, so I had no idea I was at the end of the book until it ended.

That was a really tense, fun, and interesting read, and I definitely want to read the next one in the series. I'm super interested in this world, and this character.

Lately I've been really enjoying reading books without knowing anything about them going in, but this is one of the few cases where I'm not sure that made the experience better. I genuinely didn't even know what genre this book was, so I was a little disappointed when it became clear there was nothing bigger going on, since that was hinted at. But overall I enjoyed this! It was nice to listen to and I like the message in the end. It had an interesting resolution. Also I enjoyed all the stuff about SF since that's where I live.

I absolutely love this series, and I'm so sad to have finished it. This book was so lovely, and I will never get over how well Becky Chambers combines this hopeful diverse utopia with incredible social commentary and complicated issues. There is so much to be learned from this series. Also there were several moments of wholesomeness or hope that just made me tear up (as well as a line from the acknowledgements that just. fully made me cry?? honestly rude).

I'll be recommending this series to anyone I can get to read it.

From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back

DID NOT FINISH: 2%

I don't know much about star wars and I only read Hank Green's story because I'm a fan of him and his writing haha. It was pretty good!

Ever since I read Topaz Winters's last book, I've been searching her name on Netgalley every few weeks to see if she had a new one coming out. I was so excited to read this, and in no way did it disappoint. The poems in this collection are gorgeous, honest, and absolutely gutting. Right from the beginning I was hooked, and I stayed that way throughout the whole book. The poems about her parents especially got to me, and I love how much she does around names and time and traveling. After finishing this, I feel hurt in the best possible way.

Thank you to Netgalley and Button Poetry for the chance to read and review this ARC.

I loved this! I'm autistic and I've never read a more relatable romance novel. I sped through this and the audiobook I listened to was great.

The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that some of their miscommunication near the end really bothered me--
I mean come on Michael once you realized you both had feelings for each other why not tell her directly. Sending her flowers and asking her out over and over after breaking up with her?? Come on.
But overall I loved everything about this book.

Hmm. I liked this book more by the last third or so, but still, it took me a while to get into it. There were a lot of dark violent things that deeply bothered me, even though they were usually taken back or didn't happen or whatever. I think I might like the show more. I did like the last few bits a lot though.

Edit/update: I do like the show more, and that's made me want to bump my review of the book up to 4 stars?? But I'm not going to because that seems silly. But I'd maybe recommend watching the show and then reading the book. A fair amount is different, and maybe it'll make the show harder to understand (?), but I think doing things in that order would have made me enjoy the book more. I like the show and am excited for the second season, but I also don't like it enough to want to reread the book haha.

Aaaa this was amazing. I took notes on literally every poem and I marked it as one of my all-time favorite collections when I was barely halfway through. Wow I can't get over how good this collection is. It blew my mind. I wanted to write down every line as a quote to save. I can't recommend this enough.
