Things are really ramping up plotwise, everyone's converging and the stuff with Kano??? Peak. I forgot just how good the plot was. Kaneki losing his shit more and more is so fun to read. Something I really enjoy about this series is its relationship with strength, as in, if a character fights someone stronger, they'll lose. No ass pulls or anything just instant loss, which makes fights a lot more tense.

This isn't even close to 4.75 stars in actuality but I don't care i'm biased this volume introduces Akira, who may be my favourite character period and I adore her and Amon's dynamic (lore drop they were my first ever ship). The first half focuses on the CCG as they deal with the ramifications of the Aogiri Tree raid, Suzuya gets his Quinque (which looks like Crescent Rose so I have to stan I fear.) Amon speaks to his "father", a ghoul priest and knowing what happened to him makes his previous actions and thinking much more clear. And we find out what Hide was scheming, he's the reason they found the 11th Ward Hideout so early.

The other half focuses on Kaneki and Co as they try and track down Kano, which is also a lot of fun, loving Kaneki's new group (the fact Hinami joined him to be there for him like Touka was... my heart), the plot is reallu plotting rn and I'm loving every second.

The end of the Aogiri Tree arc and man it's just fight after fight here, the mystery with the One Eyed Owl is so good and Kaneki breaking Ayato's bones for Touka?? Peak. Also love when my fave (Amon) actually affects the MC. This was too good and I cannot wait to read more.

Such a peak volume, panel work is stunning and starting to get really clever. The torture sequence is so visceral and I adore Kaneki's arc and the messaging here, Rize is a damn ghost within this narrative and she's still one of the best characters. I get that Nico's a homophobic stereotype but he's genuinely one of my favourites here, the die beautifully panel is wonderful as is the I Am A Ghoul one.

Start of the Aogiri Tree arc, love the info dumping and basically all the characters, next arc is going to be nuts!!! Highlight for sure is Suzuya and Kaneki. The stuff with the One Eyed King is really fun and the mystery with Kano??? Ate it up.

Thanks Victoria, i'm crying! Very cool! This was beautifully written (if a little overindulgent with its prose) with an excellent main character in Olivia, love the rep with her. This reminded me a lot of the Haunting of Hill House which I love so always a plus. Thought it could have stood to be a touch longer but I don't mind that things aren't explained fully and the magic is a littlw wishy washy, it makes sense with the tone and fairytale like feeling. Hated Matthew then ended up crying over him, ending was so sad but I love that.

Finishes off the Gourmet arc and starts up the Aogiri arc, love the fight with Touka and co, her freaking out at being called beautiful while her Kagune is out always gets me. The Rize side story is so good, I love a character that haunts the narrative and the thing with her giving up her name?? I love a mystery. The last chapter with Amon is interesting too and I love Suzuya and his dynamic w Shinohara.

Introduces Tsukiyama whom I adore and the Ghoul Restaurant which does actually come up later, also has Itori and her friendship with Uta and Yomo, love the setting up for the mystery surrounding Rize and Tsukiyama's relationship with Kaneki only gets more interesting. The little bit with Kimi and Nishio is great too, I love their relationship. Also the little comic with Touka and Hinami is adorable. The panel of Tsukiyama splitting the scrapper apart is my fave and

it's so obvious(coming from someone who's read the series) that Hide knows exactly what Kaneki is and is trying to help him, so clever imo.

It's an orgy man what more do you require?

This is so strong man, some of the arcs that start here continue all the way to RE- I love how Mado has a lasting impact despite being a character who doesn't last that long. Amon is fantastic as always and the panelling work is starting to get really strong, just so good.
