I loveeee this volume- Uta and Yomo are so fun, Hinami is an excellent character and I love how Kaneki's worldview is starting to adapt funny. Touka once again is peak and AMON!!! MY FAVE!!!! I totally forgot how insane he was at the beginning of this story lmfao- worldbuilding with the masks and the CCG r also very good overall.

So so so peak- fantastic start to a fantastic story, so much foreshadowing and world building done subtlety. Kaneki is (imo) a great MC and I've always liked Touka, artstyle is nice but it can be messy when it comes to the action sequences.

I'm so mad that I liked this as much as I do- super fun well explained magic system, amazing characters (Galiva you'll always be famous) and just well written erotica. This is smut done right and I cannot wait to get into the next parts.

I'll admit, I enjoyed Icebreaker quite a bit, definitely not the greatest read but it was entertaining in a lot of ways (I have a review for that up) so I was excited for this one, even though I didn't really care for Russ all too much. I shouldn't have been excited.
While Icebreaker also has no plot, it has a fun friend group and antagonist to push it forward (and smut. like a lot of it) This has absolutely none of that. It doesn't have the OG friend group barring like 3 scenes and the new characters while the highlight just aren't strong enough to carry this book's bloated corpse of a romance (maybe except Xander, loved that guy.)
And the romance. Never in my LIFE! Have I had the ick more. Russ and Aurora have little to no chemistry, almost no scenes where Aurora isn't bulldozing Russ's feelings and almost no sexual chemistry either. While I can appreciate what Grace was trying to do here with both characters families it isn't an excuse (especially in Aurora's case) for their behaviour.
Russ is just so boring 😠he's nice enough but nobody validates his feelings (which some of the time are 100% warranted) and the book tries to tell you that Aurora is changing and that she knows that she's a bad person it does nothing to actually challange her in anyway, when she fucks up in regards to finding out about Russ's father he almost immediately forgives when it was a massive overstep of boundaries- he clearly didn't want to tell you, and no addiction and lack of attention aren't even close in regards to how it affects a childhood so her making it about herself is weird.
Also dislike how the familes seem to kind of just get off scot free? I think this is a me thing but I wouldn't forgive nor forget. This felt very contrived and boring to me, Aaron sucks bad but he was a driving force in that book, what's the driving force here, nature? A decently nice understanding boss?
What a let down in regards to work, still very excited for Henry's book as he's my favourite but I don't know if i'll continue with the series after (if it continues.)

This is an incredible beginning to an incredible series- this sets up so much that I missed the second time around so well and quietly. Characters are just fantastic (as anyone who's read this knows) and the writing and prose is so charming. I also forgot how sad even the first book is, especially knowing the rest of the series is going to happen to them.

This was silly in the best way! Just a nice simple story with surprisingly good world building fit into about 50ish pages.

This was a pretty decent collection of poems, my favourites being the ones about her mother. A lot of nature language used here. I was sold on this more as a horror poetry type of thing about womanhood which it isn't but that is my fault, i've read better but overall enjoyable.
