Disappointed in this book unfortunately, but mostly because it wasn't what I expected. If you want a thorough examination of Sappho with historical context and quoting from later artists, then you'll probably like this, but I kind of wanted to read poems. I would have been okay with 50-50 context and poems or something, but this is 95% context and maybe 5% poems. Anyway.
Moriah's flat makes me long to have my own place that i can decorate and make cozy. I mean come on she has cat furniture that looks like houseplants??
Read this in one sitting. Horrific story, and almost worse than the pedophile father is how the law and the system left this girl defenseless. Like, whose idea was it to let the guy out after 3 years and let him move nextdoor to the kid he abused?? I suppose it happened because the mother was so insistent that nothing happened, which is its own kind of fucked up.
It was interesting to see thatthe mother herself is also a victim , but instead of recognizing that, she clings to her abuser. Meredith having to use herself as bait to get her father arrested again is bleak.
It was interesting to see that
Graphic: Incest, Pedophilia
Moderate: Rape
Have you ever wondered how you'd have sex with a lamp? Wonder no more.
Funny, light story. The ending was a bit meh, I felt like it went against the cracky vibe. But Thor was nice.
Could have used another round of editing with the tenses.

This romance between a white trans woman and a Black cis man is probably the best BDSM book I've read in my life. I love that they're not just doing kink isolated, but there is a community, a space, events they go to, etc. It also shows things like subspace and aftercare, safe words, and all that. I particularly like the appearance of subspace. The two main characters are also well-developed and likeable, and I love their dynamic.
