Tbh there were too many racial slurs for me to respect the book or the author

Also, the IRL story of Jenny Bonnet was so much more interesting and radically queer than the toned down version in the book. Where's my all-female gang of ex-sex workers led by transmasc icon Jenny Bonnet?? I feel robbed (pun intended)!!!

Great primer for someone like me who has never been exposed to family abolition. Some moments really shined for me while others felt lacking, underdeveloped, or really British in tone. If you can get past the intro, it's a solid book. Disappointed by the ending, felt like she really kind of petered off and ended on a hastily written note. Feel very encouraged to read and learn more, however, and lots of other works were cited.
