This series is really cute, and I'm a big fan of the artist and her style, but I really wish it would get a move on. I am not new to the manga world and I am aware it takes a friggin' decade for characters to admit their love for one another, but there also needs to be some sort of underlying conflict or plot device rather than introducing a new character each book that resolves itself right away!
Every time I read a Dresden novel I feel I need to take a break because it's so action packed and filled with stress for poor Harry. That man has about 5 people in every book trying to kill him and at least 2 relationships circling the drain, and it is never his fault. Phew! Always tough to read. Anyway, the graphic novels do a great job illustrating this series. I was sad when this second novel's last half of the comic was illustrated by Brett Booth. I have a real problem with his art. Every time a character is looking straight ahead, instead their eyes look like they're rolling up into their head! I noticed this in the Anita Blake graphic novels too. Anyway, still a good adaptation! Hooray for Harry!
My first time reading the Lomax and Biggs series, and it was good. I wish it had more of the cats though!
I really wish I had read the first one, but this book was a pleasant surprise when I processed it at work today. I am a fan of the Sandman comics as well as chibis and illustration. This book called out to me! It really is adorable with wonderful and bright illustrations. Also, compared to the characters and the comic that it's based off of, it really is quite humorous!
How I Planned Your Wedding: The All-True Story of a Mother and Daughter Surviving the Happiest Day of Their Lives
Elizabeth Wiggs Maas, Susan Wiggs
I read this with my mom as a mother/daughter book club book. We both really loved the parts Elizabeth wrote. She is a great writer! We decided this would be a nice book to read since I will be getting married next June!
