I seriously loved the art in this one!
It was so cheesy I actually burst out laughing at the full page spread of the guy ripping his shirt off in the thunderstorm. *snort*
A very odd book. It took a while for it to pick up but the story kept me reading and I finished liking it well enough. I don't think I'd recommend it to any child or teen that isn't a really avid reader. Anything less and they'll lose interest.
This book was amazing. Dark, complex and awesome! That's all I've got to say 'bout that!
I agree with a lot of the reviews out there that this story was choppy. It would get into the story and then suddenly the chapter would bring up something from Bug's past, spending a good chapter on it, too. Also, Bug was not a character I could get along with. Yeah, girl power and everything, but she took offense to everything and everyone, and that made her a very unlikeable character. She was down on her luck a lot, but it was her anger and pride and poor character that kept her in that state. Sorry Soul Enchilada, you had great storyline potential, but the character and writing style brought you down.
Wow! It was so greusome yet educational AND fun! All I can say is: poor Beethoven. His death was the worst! As a person who rarely reads or enjoys nonfiction, this really grabbed my attention and kept it!
I will admit to liking this book, no matter how dorky and terribly written it may seem. Once I got past the horrible, fake-y "teen lingo" and pop-culture references that are already fading, it wasn't that bad. The basic story and the suspense was likeable, as well as the ghost hunting aspect. This book is definitely geared towards avid watchers of Syfy's "Ghost Hunters" or similar shows. I might just read the second one...
