I listened to this as an audio book. While jetlagged. In Japan. I don't know how much I retained.

It took me a while to remember what happened in the last book. And then realize these aren't the same two people from the last book. And that Hypatia is different than Heimdall (they both begin with "H"), but once I figured these things out, I really started to enjoy this continuation of the Illuminae series. Great ending!

The art is BEAUTIFUL. This is the artist I want to be! THIS. As for the story, it takes a bit to immerse yourself in the world, but it's very intriguing.

This graphic novel was recommended to me by someone who said it was really scary. I don't know about scary, but it's definitely a great read if you like teenage survival on an alien planet!

Hooray! Wingaling Dragons! Great character development!

WHOA. So I read this book as part of a list of Mock Printz books for my library. I need to sign myself up to read out of my usual fantasy and horror, and thankfully I am made to read great books like this one. A wonderful read for any high schooler, especially those with the dreaded college decision approaching, it also deals with abusive parents, absent parents, and finding your own beliefs in a small town that keeps getting you down.

Your characters are three teens in the hillbilly hills of Tennessee: Lydia, the privileged white girl with supportive parents, a bright future at a good college, and an eagerness to leave the small-minded pricks that is her hometown. Meanwhile her only two friends, Travis and Dill, are not so privileged with terrible home lives, and are stuck where they are for the foreseeable future. Read this book to find out what they make of themselves and if they are able to escape or are trapped.

It's been a while since I started a new manga series and this is off to a good start! Funny story, I had added this to my Amazon wish list and apparently forgot about it. Then while in Japan I picked up the Japanese version thinking, "I really like the art!" and then my husband bought me the English version for Christmas! Good thing this is a good series. No yaoi hands, so that's a plus! :)

A love story with a germophobe... I LOVE it!!

I have to be forced to read historical fiction. I just can not find an interest in history, even when it's written well. So this must be a very well written book because I feel I flew through it. Was it the most amazing book I've ever read? No. But that's because I personally don't like history. What it did do was keep my interest and have great characters and make me tear up a little bit. I think what made my reading fast was the fact I skipped most of Alfred's chapters and his crazy little mind letters. I really was mostly concerned with Joana and crew and Emilia.
A great read for teens and older with interest in historical fiction, WWII and even Titanic.

Do you like chocolate? Do you want to learn about the child slavery that goes into the harvesting and fermenting of that chocolate through a tale of two brothers on a cacao farm? Do you root for their escape or for their continued servitude for the sake of your sweet tooth? Read to find out!
