Okay, so I finally finished this book! The reason my rating is so low is because it didn't pick up until page 300. Seriously! Here, let me sum up 300 of the 500 pages for you: "I'm trapped in a tower making monsters. Can I trust the White Wolf?" "I'm with my brother and sister, flying around pretending to kill chimera." "I'm a fawn centaur. What is the point of my random character? You won't find out in this book!" There were so many elements that were introduced for a couple pages and then forgotten. It moved sooooo slowly. The best parts of the book were, again, Karou's friends Zuzana and Mik. I'll still read book three when it comes out, but for the love of Betsy, please keep it moving. Today I vow that if it doesn't get moving after the first 150 pages, I'm dumping it. Sorry Laini Taylor.

When I read graphic novels I first judge it by the art. I won't stop reading it if the art isn't to my liking, but it IS a graphic novel. The graphics should show some amount of talent, even if it isn't in a style I like. Don't worry, this comic gets an A+ in the art department. The style is pretty much manga, but not the simple, big-eyed manga, but in the detailed-ness of it. It is beautiful! And the story follows the "Interview" book well also. And even as a person who loathes Claudia, I really enjoyed this! Seriously. I hate her guts. Even dead she never leaves Louis alone! Argh!

Cute, I always love Telgemeier's comics, and this one did not disappoint! I was never in drama, but she certainly captures tween/teen friendship! I felt the characters were more high school age rather than 7th and 8th like in this comic. I totally recommend this to anyone who wants a cute, quick read about drama class, friendship, and crushes!

I took a chance on this book and I'm really glad I did. Sure, it fits in with the dozens and dozens of teen occult books, but it's disguised as a superhero book. Audrey's mom is more than just the city of Minneapolis's super hero North Star, she is part of the Guardians that helps protect the city from "demons". So there's your occult. Demons want to get through, Audrey wants to help with her talent of Knowing. It's a pretty simple plot, and the book moves really quickly, but the writing is fresh, the relationships stay uncomplicated, and I had a lot of fun reading it.

These books will glue themselves to your hands. Seriously! You can't put them down, because if you do, then you will immediately start to forget the tons of details and revelations had by our time-traveling teens and their older soldier-friends. Don't worry, Card keeps the book moving well enough that you won't want to put it down. He jam packs a lot into each book in this series. I can't wait for the next one, but I hope it's soon before everything I just read fades away! So here Angie, here are notes to yourself:
-Don't trust Vadesh
-Don't trust the monkey-people
-Don't trust mice
-Don't trust Ram Odin
-Don't trust ANYONE!
-Having a parasite facemask dissolve your eyes and replace them with better ones is creepy
-Having an aquatic parasite facemask sounds better because it reminds me of the Zora Mask in Majora's Mask
-Who really sent the Destroyers?

Cute and humorous just like the series. For those of us who wanted more after the series ended, but won't settle with Legend of Korra!

I am always super excited anytime Brom has a new book coming out, I always love his art and characters, and his writing is also pretty decent! I will admit to liking the Child Theif better, but this was an interesting take on Yule, the winter, pagan holiday, and the transformation Christianity had on it. Perhaps the old gods had to adapt to this new religion also and take up the work of the saints to survive. Maybe one of the old gods didn't want to accept the new religion and make the world remember that we come from the Earth we live on and must go back to respecting nature. I enjoyed the characters of Jesse and Isabel, but it seemed the feud between Santa and Krampus was a bit forced. Either way, I am still happy Brom continues to bring out his illustrated novels. I can't wait for his art book to come out in June 2013!

A graphic novel like this is a great way to help someone visualize and enjoy this science fiction classic a bit more. I really recommend this to any readers that tried the book but gave up!

Holy cow, this was a wonderful continuation in the WondLa series. I really do think it was even better than the first! This book, on several occasions, made me just sit the book down and smile or tear up for a moment. It's a great book for all ages. And don't get me started on DiTerlizzi and his amazing artwork. Egads, I want that man's talent. He is so good at telling a story, creating engaging characters, making them grow and learn, and then making it all come alive with his wonderful illustrations. Seriously, start this series with the first WondLa book if you haven't already!
