I am always super excited anytime Brom has a new book coming out, I always love his art and characters, and his writing is also pretty decent! I will admit to liking the Child Theif better, but this was an interesting take on Yule, the winter, pagan holiday, and the transformation Christianity had on it. Perhaps the old gods had to adapt to this new religion also and take up the work of the saints to survive. Maybe one of the old gods didn't want to accept the new religion and make the world remember that we come from the Earth we live on and must go back to respecting nature. I enjoyed the characters of Jesse and Isabel, but it seemed the feud between Santa and Krampus was a bit forced. Either way, I am still happy Brom continues to bring out his illustrated novels. I can't wait for his art book to come out in June 2013!
